Because my bum right hand was holding up my progress, I just bought some lifting hooks to use on my deadlifts.
Besides totally changing the weight distribution, the hooks and wrist straps force my wrists and arms to grab the bar at a much more perpendicular (straight forward) angle than before.
Can I assume that this is a good thing? I can tell that my forearms are gonna be killing me the next couple of days, but right now it feels like a good hurt rather than an injury.
well - the idea is to make the bar move over the shortest distance possible in competition. Having a straight line between your shoulders and the bar gives you the most height and puts you in a better(stronger) pulling position - so…yeah, it’s a good thing.

That makes sense. It just felt weird the first time using them, I guess. Thanks.
