Liftin Shoes

I wear Nike Free 5.0 shoes that I designed and ordered on line. I am sure some 5 year old kid stitched them together in some Korean sweat shop, but he did a damn good job. I love these shoes. I train in them everyday. I just ordered another pair so that when I finally wear these out, I will have some to fall back on.
So I guess you got the running version. Did you try out the trainer version first. Is there any difference? Was it a big deal getting used to the shoes (like the make it seem on nikefree.com)? Im looking at getting a pair myself.

Otomix makes a good, tough shoe. If you buy last year’s model you can get them cheap when they go on sale. I’ve been wearing the same pair for about three years.

Nothing to get used to. The first time I tried them on it was like wearing the most broken in pair of shoes I have ever owned. That is how flexible they are. That is also why I like them so much.

Also, no, it wasn’t a big deal getting used to them and shouldn’t be for most weight trainers. We build our muscles up through calf raises and other activities anyway. the only way I would see someone needed to get used to them is if they weren’t used to exercises that caused a need for strengthening the muscles in the feet as is seen with calf raises and even aerobic activity. I got the “running” design even though that isn’t what I use them for.

I won’t waste anymore space on the forums list, so I will post here (as my question falls along the same lines). I am interested in getting a pair of Adidas Oly lifting shoes. Does anyone know the best site to purchase these? I don’t want to pay a fortune at some crappy site, if I can find a better place to purchase them.

Thanks!!!

google “dynamic elieko”

My Chucks have stood up to darn near everything, and are still going strong. Hard to beat for the price. No heel, which is good for wide-stance squatters like me…Good for deads, and great for benching off your toes.

I’ve also used Adidas Ironworks, and really liked them. Solid-feel, good grip and nice heel: good for IPF benching, oly lifts, and close-stance squats. Not so good for deadlifting, and useless for heels-up benching.

I picked mine up from Dynamic-Eleiko, with no trouble.

I use either actual O-lifting shoes. I’ve used Addidas and the chinese ones, Do Win.

Although, I’m pretty impressed with walmart’s “Athletic Works” brand…$10, flat sole, velcro which allows me to tigheten them up.

where do you guys get your oly adidas shoes. ive looked all over the interwebs looking.
I got mine from www.sportsshoesspecialists.net. They are an English based firm so I don’t know what the shipping costs would be. They were very fast with the delivery too, like 3 days.

The adidas ones aren’t cheap from this site though with prices ranging from ?80-?110 (sorry, don’t know the ?$ conversion rate)

Wheels

CT used the Power Firm shoes during his Olympic lifting days.

I lift in Reebok low top basketball shoes. I had Chucks but the canvas just seemed too stiff. I like leather because it gives and molds to your feet.

i confuse. so many of u like oily shoes for lifting. why is oily good? can i just oil my own? what kind of oil do u recommend?

(j/k)

Personally, I just lift in my running shoes (New Balance 691). I run after lifting, except on leg days; if I use a different pair for lifting, that’s one more thing to lug to the gym.

But I’ve been thinking of trying out the Nike Free shoes sometime, so it’s good to know that they’d be good for lifting as well as running. Yet another tip I owe the Prof for.

I wear Nike Air Force One’s for all my lower body work. I’ve been using them for over a year and they hold up well and support my ankles.
Note: I’m a powerlifter. I’m white. But I refuse to wear Chuck’s because they’re fugly.

I love Chucks. I have had a pair since the summer and have lifted in them virtually every workout.

For squats and deads I love them. I pull sumo, if I were to pull conventionally, I think I would use wrestling shoes.

When you lace Chucks all the way up, you just basically feel invincible.

Bear

I wear Adidas Superstars II.

I love them, especially because they have pink stripes!
