Liddell Out of UFC 85

Everyone recovers differently from that sort of thing but yes best course of action is to get surgery and have careful rehab.

He’s out 5 months MINIMUM

it turns that color cause of the blood rushing to the surface… That sort of thing must hurt like a bitch (i wouldn’t know).

I wonder how he tore it too, if i find out i’ll post.

I tore mine like that water skiing.

Turned purple like that all the way to the back of my knee. I didn’t have surgery, but it took a good nine months to heal up. Like a dumbass I didn’t even go to the doctors, and yeah it hurt like hell.

Famous cell block quotes from Zap

Rashad Evans is now fighting James Irvin… Should be a decent fight, still not even close to a main event though…

I tore my calf like that during football season. Only problem was that i tore it fighting in a tournament. So i told my coach that i tore it in the game the night before. The trainer just taped up my ankles so that it couldn’t flex as far and told me to go play. Oh, I also had a big cut above my eye… it was from the game too…

It really didn’t take too long for it to recover though it did hurt pretty bad. I could imagine a hamstring tear could be a different story though.

What started out as a pretty lame PPV card has turned into a nice beer drinking, burger grilling, afternoon free show. I’m looking forward to it.

That’s a nasty looking hamstring injury. Looks like the time my brother got stomped by a bull, and he wound up needing surgery.

This should liven up UFC 85 a bit. Matt Hughes and Thiago Alves. I am excited about this one.

What do you mean? It’s still on ppv, not switched to spike … right? Here’s why I cant get excited for hughes-alves. If alves wins, he’s the #1 contender to the welterweight title, which everyone seems to already agree he ought to be anyway. If hughes wins … so what? Nobody wants to see hughes-gsp IV. Even if the fight ends up being great it had little to no impact on the future of the ww division, so it’s hard to get pumped up for it.

KBC,
If Hughes wins or loses, he’s likely facing Matt Serra next. As long as GSP is champ, he won’t get another shot at him.

Fitch is next in line to take on GSP.

You’re right. I’d heard they switched it to Spike because of all the changes to the card, but I guess that was just a rumour. UFC.com still has it listed as a PPV.

that’s what I meant when I said that nobody wants to see hughes-gsp IV

Right, I meant that alves will be the #1 contender to whomever wins between those two guys.
