Ok, so weird how that posted twice…whatever.
So, thank you for all the compliments on the hair color! I know you all didn’t see it before, but it is definitely more red. I like it a lot! ![]()
SO, no training today b/c of the midmorning phone interview. It lasted about an hour and had only 3 questions. I did talk a lot and asked a lot of my own questions. They have four positions to fill and over 300 applicants to go through. I do have an advantage in that I already work for Marriott so already know the computer systems, I’ve also worked overnight, so I know about the night audit. He said that I would hear from them probably next week, 10 days at the latest.
Tomorrow I have a doctor’s appointment and then training and then work. I am excited to get in a little earlier than I normally would so I can try some of the mobility work that has been suggested.

How incredibly sad is it that all this time I’ve been reading your name as Gurneys? Green eyes, duh.
I was going to link you to the old fart thread too, the mobility work just feels good to do before lifting. [/quote]
you aren’t alone…i didn’t even compute Green Eyes til someone said it somewhere…![]()
over 35 is the old fart thread? I’M IN!!!

Sending positive vibes for the interview result!

And, you did follow through! That makes me happeh.
Mmmmmmmmmmmm … scar…
Hey Greenie, didn’t want to post in here until I saw real pics. Love love love the hair.
Oh! & hai to the Kat.
So, today was good. My scar is healing fine. One of the AM Rooms Controllers came in with pink eye so they sent her home. I had gotten there so early, and done with my training about an hour earlier than I usually do, my manager asked me to start early so I got an hour’s worth of OT today.
On with the real nitty gritty stuff!
I did some static stretching along with some fire hydrants, standing leg raises (hip abductors?), scapular push ups (which felt AWESOME b/c I carry all my stress in my upper back and I could feel them really loosening those muscles), and some guy’s squat mobility exercises (his name starts with a T?). Then:
Everything is listed reps x weight.
DB Lunges: 4 x BW, 3 sets of 6 x 8.
BB Squats: 2 sets of 15 x 20.
Leg Curls: 6 x 40, 6 x 50, 6 x 50, 6 x 60.
Calf Raises: 4 sets of 12.
Ab Curls: 3 sets of 20 x 60.
Then some more stretching after that. Since it took me 4 days to recover from the last leg day, I decided to do the minimum reps and low weight. I can’t afford to take 4 days off of training after I work my legs. Right now my legs feel great, not tight or sore or anything.
eventually your leggies will get used to it!! or not…I still get sore for a few days after…sore like having to use the counter to lower myself to the toilet…sorry, haha!
To help with doms:
-do 15 minutes of walking treadmill - or walking outside after your leg day
-eat proper meals post workout
-sleep enough hours
^^^^
yeah, what she said. Add a ton of water to the list too. It’ll help you flush toxins (lactic acid).
Leg work looks pretty good…cheers!
Listen to Nlmain & CDQAR24 - great advice regarding DOMS.
Plus, MiM is right, it’ll improve as your body gets used to training.
Plus, you’ll probably learn to love DOMS. I know I do.
Okay…what is “doms”?

Ah. Thank you.
Yes, nlmain has it right. Motion is lotion. My DOMs are infinitely worse if I then spend the rest of the day sat on my arse (in front of the computer). Getting blood into the affected muscles helps, so going for a walk is a stellar idea.
