Let's Try This: Grneyes' s Log

Went to the gym!!! Almost forgot what that was like…

Bench:
10 x Bar
10 x 55
10 x 55

Wide-Grip Pulldowns:
10 x 60
10 x 70
10 x 70

DB Bicep Curls:
8 x 15
8 x 15

Leg Press:
12 x 90
12 x 90

Cable Crunches:
20 x 50
20 x 50

Pretty solid, I think, for not going since the middle of May…

welcome back

welcome back :)[/quote]

Thanx! Going to be slightly sporadic, I think. The past two weeks I’ve had ONLY Sunday off (worked Monday-Saturday) and had training at 9:30am Monday-Thursday of those two weeks…so that makes my work day 9:30am-8pm four days a week. And, if I get accepted into the blackjack class starting Aug 1, I will be working 12pm-12:30am Mon-Thurs (work 12-8, training 8:30-12:30) for 8 weeks straight… and if they keep scheduling me 6 days…um…yeah, what was I talking about again? I got tired just typing that…

Leg Press:
12 x 90 + sled
12 x 90 + sled
12 x 90 + sled

Calf Raises:
20 x 50 + sled
20 x 50 + sled

***I don’t know how much the sled on the leg press weighs, which is a bummer.

Cable Rows:
20 x 40
14 x 60
14 x 60

Tricep Pushdowns:
10 x 30
10 x 30
8 x 40

Hypers:
10 x BW
10 x BW

There was a guy wearing vibrams with socks doing all sorts of stuff. He was doing a split leg deadlift thing with the bar between his legs which IH later confirmed was a Jefferson lift. He was doing them very fast with 2 plates on each side plus a couple of 10s (I think). Also at one point he was doing a one armed kettle bell swing into a overhead press. It looked sort of like a swing snatch thing…but not. It was interesting to say the least. Also there were the two weirdos taking up both squat racks, two bars a piece, and as many bumper plates they could use. They were doing some sort of deadlift/overhead press/squat circuit…When they were done the guy would carry the bumper plates across the gym with his arms extended over his head, to make sure everyone knew he could carry them so effortlessly.

Stretching
Glute Bridges

Squat: 3 sets of 8 x Bar. Above parallel but felt good. Not going to overdo it. Not going to try to be my old self. IH said my form looked good except that when coming up I tend to put most of my weight on the front of my feet. Concentrated on keeping back on my heels for the last set. I started squatting in dance shoes (will post a pic) that did not allow my feet to sit flat on the ground and so now that I’m wearing shoes that are flat to the ground I have to relearn how to squat.

Wide-Grip Pulldowns: 3 sets of 10 x 60

DB Curls: 2 sets of 10 x 12.5

Cable Crunches: 15 x 40, 15 x 50

Overall felt good. Don’t know how often I will go but will try to go at least three times a week after work. My schedule will be changing “fairly soon” to semi-overnight (6/7/8/9 pm to 2/3/4/5 am) and will try to work out with IH in the morning. Since he doesn’t work out until 11ish this should be good. We’ll see.

Pic of the shoes I first started training in…

Hi Greenies - nice to see you back at it. Balance is key to doing this for the long run. But you know that right?

For some reason the heel on your shoes reminded me of these puppies…

Glad you’re back!

I watched a jazz class while on the treadmill this morning. Those were the exact shoes they all had on. (not the frenchie ones)

along with what CBear said, I’d add in some mountain climbers and planks.
Love the cat pix!

Are you training right now?

I am not. I pulled my back the day we went to Maine and it is still slightly painful and spasms. Tonight, dealing Blackjack, standing constantly slightly bent over for an hour at a time is going to be “fun”. I keep meaning to work out with IH at home…maybe I will today since I am unwillingly awake. Just do some glute bridges and bodyweight squats.

Okay…did some stretching today, everything was 5 x 5 with 30ish seconds between sets: Glute bridges, retarded frogs, and some sort of lay on your stomach and lift your head and feet at the same time thing. Reminded me of a seal. shrug

Supermans, I think

Hope your back is “back” to normal soon!

Yeah, that’s it! And those are great for your back! Smart move. And good job getting it in! Doing it is half the battle.

I should give you the Brazilian Butt Workout!!! to do - that takes like 10 mins and its brutal on yer ass cheeks.

Btw, being a black jack dealer is in my all time top 5 jobs that I would do if I could be whatever I wanted! Sounds so sexy!

Okay…what is the Brazilian Butt Workout!!! ?!?!?!?!?

To tell you the truth…it’s okay…has it’s ups and downs like any job…to get to BE a dealer…holy shit! It took me 3+ hours to fill out the application! You need to disclose everything! All credit cards, all bank accounts of any kind, all loans, your job history for the last 10 years or back to age 18 (which ever is shorter), all your residences for the last 10 years or back until age 18, any court decisions or criminal records, you get fingerprinted, you get your picture taken…just so you can get a gaming license to work. If you want to be a supervisor? OMG…they interview your family, friends, neighbors, there’s an even more in depth interview with an actual gaming control board person…it is INSANE!!!

wow I never expected it to be THAT anal.

good job oin getting that workout in Greenies.

Did some more stretching stuff: Glute bridges (5 x 5), hugged legs to chest (1 x 5), and the seal/Superman thing (5 x 5).

Glute Bridges: 5 x 5

Retarded Frogs: 5 x 5

Retarded Seals/Supermans: 5 x 5

Box Squats: 5 x 5

Everything is, of course, body weight with 30-35 second rests between sets. First time squatting in FOREVER, needed slight form correction from IH about arching my back and bending from the knees first, instead of the waist. Other than that, did okay, I think. No pain, except the good kind.

No pain except the good kind is what matters! Injuries are a motherfucker I’m so glad you’re pain free right now.

Yay for pain free!
