Let's Try This: Grneyes' s Log

So did some light stuff yesterday at home with IH. Did some very SLIGHT stretching and some glute bridges (a whopping 5) and some retarded frogs. Will go to the gym today and do stuff that is not squats with a bar, rack pulls, or benching.

Close Grip Bench (with IH’s curl bar):
15 x Bar
12-15 x Bar + 10
12-15 x Bar + 20
12-15 x Bar + 20
12-15 x Bar + 20

Triceps: 3 Sets of 15 using just the adjustable DB bar. I think it’s 2.5 or 5?

Wide-Grip Pulldowns:
10 x 70
10 x 80
10 x 80

Leg Extensions:
12 x 65
12 x 65

Flys:
8 x 40
10 x 55
10 x 55

Bridges:
10 x BW

Planks:
1 x 15 seconds

lololol at the retarded frogs =D

Nice workouts Grns.

im half tempted to google image search “retarded frog.”

LOL…that’s what Mainy calls 'em. They’re the squat to stand things. She says she looks like a retarded frog when she does them, which is ludicrous of course.

Okay, another light day at home. Back is feeling better, still very slight pain, but it’s less and less every day.

Stretching: arms, legs.

Bird Dogs

Glute Bridges: 10 x BW

Stretching: back, legs.

Squats:
12 x BW
12 x BW

Lunges: 5 x BW (per leg)

I pulled this gem from the search

Love the pic, Mainy!

Cardio: Bike for 10 mins, manual level 2. Supposedly at 60 mph and 1.88 miles. shrug

Seated MPs: 10 x Bar x 3

DB Front Laterals: 12 x 10 x 2

Calf Raises: 16 x 40. I couldn’t figure out how to adjust the machine so I only did one set. I normally do them on the leg press but someone had left a 100 lb plate on each side.

Squats: 10 x Bar x 2

Hypers: 12 x BW x 2

Now a shake, a meal, and rest before laundry later.

Worked out at home with IH. Did some curl bar rack pulls, curl bar shrugs, drag curls with the curl bar. Strangely enough the ottomans my mom bought me for my apt back in Chicago are the perfect height for below the knee rack pulls AND box squats. And they store IH’s weight plates. Much more useful than originally thought. Go Mom.

Also, finally got the ring IH bought me for my birthday back in February. Jared never called to tell us it was ready and we completely forgot about it. It’s on the right.

aww - how pretty!

Beautiful!!!

cool home workouts… I really liked working out at home when I was. And I would more with the right equipment. I jumped the gun a couple months back and bought really old crappy stuff for cheap…its ok in emergencies though!

Thanx, for the compliments!

Another home workout day.

Stretching

Glute Bridges: 15 x BW x 2

Bird Dogs: 10 x BW x 2 (each side)

Squats: 20 x BW x 2

EZ Bar Curls: 12 x 40 x 2 Not sure on the weight of these. I had a 10 lb plate on each side and IH thinks the bar is 20 by itself. shrug

Going to get waxed today and hopefully find some cheap bedside tables.

So I came to a conclusion the other day while doing squats: I am terrified of them. This is weird to me because I had worked up to 135. Then I got injured. Now I’m paranoid. Also, if I can’t do them with “perfect” form, I don’t want to do them. My OCD is kicking in. If I see the SLIGHTEST knee wobble, I freak out. Also, I can’t stop my hands from going numb after 43p 3 or something. I think I need a trainer. Or some kind of squat boot camp…

do you wear wrist wraps? they might help with the hurting/numb hands.

although my trainer did help me, I also got some massive help from posting wall squats and regular squat vids to get feedback from the group. collectively we’re pretty much boot camp.

HI!

Oh Hai Grny!

Squats kinda ARE TERRIFYING… mainly cuz the weight is just ON YOU and its like lift or else.

I gets it.

Possibly. And I’ve been getting super OCD about my form. If there’s any sort of knee wobbling at all I freak out. If I can’t do them perfect, I don’t want to do them. Kind of like how I was before I actually started working out. I wanted to find the PERFECT work out, PERFECT exercises, PERFECT diet, before I did anything.

perfect is a journey not a destination. find out what are your main issues are with the squats - such as knee cave. Then do your homework and rehab. you’ve seen Kimba and I and others fight the same fight.
