I saw your comment about ballet over on Print and Edgy’s thread. I like it sooo much. Although I will say the learning curve is steep. I don’t know my developpes from my frappes, or my tendus from my degages. So much to learn. It’s more of a mental workout than I thought. I was most worried about flexibility, and being able to keep up with all the 20-year-olds. That part is fine. It’s a college course so there are quizzes and tests on all the french terms and movements, but no recital. So great for the hip flexors and my calves were burning so bad the first week from all the toe pointing.

I did look at the colleges around here, but just the community ones. I didn’t want to go to a four year college for just a ballet class. I guess I can do plie barre workouts at home and just use the wall as the barre.
In better news, I hope to start my new job soon, probably next week since my current work is immediately firing anyone who gives their two week notice (which I will do on Tuesday), and this will get me back on day shift so I will have regular sleeping hours which will help me have more energy to get back to the gym! I have been eating better since I have to bring my food to work with me since my work no longer offers food after 9pm (my start times are anywhere btwn 6-10pm) and have lost 5 lbs. I hope to continue this with my new job as well.

All of this I love.
ALL OF IT!
Have you seen that infomercial for that home barre system? It always intruiged me. Then again I know how fucking hard ballet is. The sorest I have EVER BEEN in my ENTIRE LIFE was from a damn ballet class. ANyways I wish I could remember the name of it but it seems like something that might work well for you as opposed to using the wall or whatever.

Yep. There are some places here that have Pure Barre classes but it’s so expensive, and I don’t think I’d progress with only one hour per week. My instructor spend the first hour on warming up, stretching, and barre work. The next hour is floor work without a barre, and I’m going twice a week. I need all the technique and I’m enjoying it so much. I think I want to be a ballerina when I grow up.
I’ve seen some portable barres, but wouldn’t that be nice to have one installed at home? My gym does have some dance studios upstairs that are seldom used in the morning where I can practice.
Here’s some inspiration for you. She has some DVDs, but I haven’t tried them. I’ll let you know if I find a good one. I’ll have to take a break over the summer so I’m try to find a good ballet DVD.
It was a no go because I was in a shitty ass mood because I found out IH and I owe a lot in taxes thanx to my previous employer not taking enough out. Happened to every one I know who works there. People who have never owed federal taxes before owed ricockulous amounts like $1500 for a single guy and $7000 for a married couple with no kids (not us though, different ppl). That has messed up the rest of the year. Not sure if we’re gonna be able to save enough for a down payment on a house AND pay off these stupid taxes. So after finding out my entire financial plan for 2012 (plus possibly getting pregnant) has turned to shit, I went home and wallowed in pity and played with my new laptop, which now seems like a frivolous use of IH’s bonus…

yeah, my dad. He’s been accountant since forever and why pay someone when I can get them done for free? He did all he could do and got us to the lowest amount he could. It’s still a helluva a lot though.
^Get the payment book & just send in monthly installments. Call the IRS, tell’em what you can do & that’s all you can do. They will work w/you on amounts. Trust me, I’ve been there.
