I like it when they have stupid expressions on their face. I’m easily amused.

So there is a guy dancing between sets and yet you wussed out on squats due to too many people there?? Really? If I were there, I’d be laughing and pointing at that guy, but cheering you on.

Aw, thanx! Well, I’m pretty self-conscious and with all of those big muscaly men, I felt SUPER self-conscious. I won’t wuss out next time.
Those guys don’t give a crap what you’re doing, as long as you’re not getting in their way.
Yes, I know that…I really do, but…the thought is still there.

Also, i’ll try to refrain from telling you how great your tits look while you are benching:)
Thanx! Though that was on the first set, not on the set I failed on.
Glad to hear you two are having fun AND productive gym time!
HAHAH! I love hearing about what its like co-habitating with IH…tee hee…
um…I imagine your tits will look just as nice on a fail ![]()
Greenie, I totally feel ya on working out with the big boys - I was also really intimidated at first. Its just something you have to get used to, and the only way to do that is through repeat exposure! So keep at it mama.
Training:
Bench: 9 x bar, 4 x bar, 2.5 x 65, 3 x 65, 3 x 65, 3 x 65. Strangely enough, the last set felt the lightest.
Leg Extensions: 5 x 40, 10 x 55, 10 x 55, 10 x 55.
Cable Crunches: 10 x 60, 10 x 60.
Widegrip Lat Pulldowns: 5 x 60, 10 x 70, 10 x 70, 10 x 70.
The weights (not the bench) still feel semi-light. I don’t feel any pain/soreness afterward. I wonder if I should increase the weight and decrease the reps?
Steve Pulcinella, the gym owner, was giving this really tall, really skinny kid DL lessons. It was cool. I wanted to raise my hand and go “Me next! Me next, please!” This kid is super skinny, like a stick, and he always has this dopey expression on his face, like he’s not mentally here. He’s at the gym everyday, doing his thing, listening to his portable CD player. I would think any muscle he puts on would be extremely noticable. I hope whatever his goals are, he exceeds them.
EDIT: Changed bench from 55lbs to 65lbs. Apparently, I cannot do simple math.
Take your time…theres plenty of time to feel sore! Just wait til you get to do step ups or lunges! ![]()
But yes, I would raise the weight weekly…especially if you are getting all your reps in…like next week for example, you can go up to 60 for the leg ext.
I like sticking to higher reps for stuff other than the big three(for me thats squat, military press and DL) I don’t really bench.

Bar was 45lbs
Two 10 pound plates. (1 per side) = 20lbs
45+20 = 65lbs

OMG. I am ashamed to say I am an accountant’s daughter if I can’t do simple math…Thank you for the clarification. ![]()
Anytime, Luv:)
Good thing it wasn’t in kilos… that would’ve fucked us both up!
this is soooo cute! sigh.

Thanx. We’ll be here all week. ![]()
Sometimes I have to stare at the weights and the bar and add it all up to make sure I do it right. Why does the bar have to be 45 intead of 40 or 50??? ![]()

That would be too easy. You know men, they have to make everything complicated.

haha…excellent point
Are you kidding? I’m always messing up my numbers, either pulling too much or too little - damn those stupid little plates!
Training today:
10 mins on treadmill at 3.1 mph and 1.5% incline.
Rack Pulls: 5 x bar, 5 x 95, 5 x 95, 5 x 95, 5 x 105.
Seated OHP: 10 x bar, 8 x bar, 8 x bar.
Widegrip Lat Pulldowns: 10 x 70, 8 x 80, 5 x 80, 8 x 60.
This is the first time I’ve felt like I’ve actually done something. I broke a sweat. I have blisters. I am sore. I really need an upper back massage. I am starving. I can’t wait to feel this way again. ![]()

Men make things complicated, because we figure women are smart enough to to understand what we mean… guess not.
Wait, I just realized that post might be too complicated for you, so i’ll just respond with, “ok”.

Too bad your grip was giving out on the last couple of sets of rack pulls. We’ll work on the grip and maybe get some straps for your heaviest sets…
