Yep, you people are too high class for someone like myself.
I’m just a simple man whore. Besides, I’ve already made my rounds around Japan. Why would I want to spend it with a bunch of prude conservatives like your group? :)
Well…
Penis size?
It feels like I’m the only one really comfortable with bringing up sexual insecurities that are examined from a more anthropological level.
As animals what are we? We are apes, evolved to have depth perception and focus as well as the sort of self awareness that allows us to imagine ourselves in the minds and bodies of others for the sake of making sense of the world as well as our evolved social dynamics.
From this perspective, I like to think of it as more psycho-anthropological perspective, we can realize norms and insecurities from a more evolutionary perspective. We are very capable of say sitting and observing the mating habits of apes. We hypothesize about their physicality…
Take a look at chimps, and what we can simply learn by the way they have sex as animals? What habits have they evolved and what physical traits do they have which seem to back up hypothesis about them?
Male chimps for example have huge balls and small penises. It’s been hypothesized that male chimps have such huge balls because sexually they take part in sperm wars. Sperm competition - Wikipedia
It’s been hypothesized that male humans have large penises, we have the largest of any ape likely because of penis wars or perhaps the increased ability to effectively impregnate females. Are we capable of stepping back and examining our own antro-sexual-psychology in this sense? We can look at ads on t.v. on the internet etc. Society and business prey on our insecurities as men, is there any wonder why there were ads on T.V. for years for things like Enzite etc? Is it me being a perv bringing up things like penises and vaginas, or is it you guys being too schoolyard to acknowledge this is also a very important aspect of the discussion that has been COMPLETELY left out of the discussion thus far?
It seems to be left out of the discussion most of the time because we are all so insecure about it… And here we are discussing insecurities. I bring up this topic and instead of it becoming a topic of legit insecurity discussion it turns into me being a trashy sort. That’s at least what I came away with haha. But whatever, “we are all strangers” yet we are still insecure talking about this stuff. If I were an alien examining you all, that would probably be a very curious thing to the equivalent of an alien anthropologist.
I’m not an anthropologist, but I still want to understand this stuff.
What about these sexual adaptations are different from chimps, how do they work mechanically, and how are they hooked up to our insecurities?

Severiano, you make assumptions about others’ insecurities and then when they say “huh, never occurred to me to worry about that” assume they’re fearful of the topic. Both csulli and AC addressed your concerns re: penis size directly, and several of us offered our understanding of the carousel metaphor’s meaning.
Have I not been laughed at throughout this thread? Orion, my god, how does he stand the amount of shit he gets in here? Being laughed at a bit is not the end of the world.
If you want to talk about penis size and your own insecurity and posit that there are evolutionary underpinnings to the matter, that is one thing. Assuming others are feeling what you feel but are unwilling to admit it is another.
I remember someone posting that white women loathe Asian women, and several men agreeing. I was like huh? It’s never ever occurred to me that they have some sort of advantage in attracting men, and upon examination of my own experience I reject it for myself. Men who like me would not prefer an Asian woman.
I’d be miffed as hell if someone suggested I’m not willing to be honest, but I did take some ribbing during that discussion as I recall, which didn’t bother me at all. (Because I know I AM curvy. lol)
Penis size has been discussed again and again on TN. It might be worth its own thread.
