Let The Dog Drive The Bus

Daughter in thick dressing gown works for a single arm push press. (very cheaty.)

Not to full extension. (low ceiling.)

Have your daughter carry a sack full of flour and bowling balls.

A sack full of flour? That’s wishful thinking, it’s starting to look like Soviet Russia over here.

The only problem I see is that your weights may sometimes wish to go play with someone else.

Or just start crying for absolutely no reason.

1st at home work out today:

(Push ups x 10/ pullups x5) x 5

Some kind of chest press type fly with a band anchored in door x lots

Kettle bell swings x til I got out of breath and a bit hot

Kettle bell shoulder press 3 each shoulder x 3, then push press 10 each shoulder

Kettlebell sumo type Deadlift x till I got bored.

Kettlebell floor press 3x8

Going to have to try and structure this a bit better, probably go for rep’s in time, then try and better next time.
20kg kettlebell from back of understairs cupboard is a decent weight for pressing stuff, pleased about that.

So do you just have a single 20kg kettlebell to work with. Just curious…better than what I got.

Yes just one 20kg kettlebell. It’s quite weird getting used to unilateral movements. I’ve got a red band, a set off bands with handle attachments an a door anchor, and a door frame pull up bar.

Oh crap, man. The thought has crossed my mind as well. For now, I have managed to keep the idea at bay through the imbibing of spirits and beer.

My partner and I have been ill for the last 10 days, so what little energy I had was spent trying to keep our daughter entertained.

Feeling much improved today so got a bit of a home workout in:

(10 kettlebell swings, 10 push ups) x 5

(Band fly x10, pull apart x 10 curl x 10) x 3

Single arm lying kb press 3 x10

Band oh press 4 x 10

Lunges with kb 2 x 10

Kb sumo Deadlift x 100

Can get quite decent resistance by clipping all the bands together, feels good pressing over head with one end anchored to my foot.

Going to try to add a round of the swings/pushup each work out.

Hey man, been a while. Was it Corona you think, or just some random stuff?

May have been, partner had all the symptoms other than high temperature. I was just feeling like shit, and having waves of fatigue.

My diet has gone to shit, I struggle to motivate myself to eat properly when not training. I went up to 227lbs, down to 217lbs this morning, so am getting a grip on it now.

I just can’t get on with training at home, with bands and a kettle bell (only done a couple of sessions in the last few weeks, and nothing worth logging.)

I’ve been avoiding this forum, as it makes me sad and miss the gym!

No worries mate, try to hang in there. I don’t exactly love working out at home, but I have managed to keep things going for the most part. Requires a change of mindset, that is for sure.

Gave myself a bit of a talking too, can’t just mope about until gyms re-open. Bit of a workout this morning:

10kb swings/10 pushups/3 ng pullups x5

Kb shoulder press 3 each side x 3

20 bpa

Kb floor press 8, 7, 5

Kb row 15, 15, 10

Band Lateral raises 10, 10

Kb curl 12, 12

Got a pair of pushup handles at lidl for £3.99, felt pushups much more than standard hands on floor.
Still not really getting to grips with Kb.
Spoke to gym owner, he recons he has a load of old equipment in a storage container in the gyms car park, he’s going to to have a sort out and see if there’s anything I could borrow!

Atta boy!

I’m always amazed how much difference these make, you can really feel it in the chest.

Those extra few inches really help stretch you out a bit more. (Your queue @Cyrrex)
