Let The Dog Drive The Bus

Absolutely no idea what you mean, mate.

Chest was sore yesterday from pushups on them, I like that you can have hands in line with your body too.

Hopefully getting and Olympic bar, plates, some db’s, an adjustable bench, and power cage in the next few days! Very excited!

That’s awesome news man. Is that a long term plan?

Certainly whilst gyms are shut. The power cage I can buy, if I want it long term. The other stuff is borrowed until gyms reopen. I imagine there will be alot of equipment up for sale once gyms are up and running again.
It’s a beast of a power cage, I’ve a couple possible short term options to house it.
Long term I’d like to set up a home gym, but would have to remove a falling down shed and build a bigger one to house it.

I’m kind of counting on that to be honest. I want to get my hands on an assault bike without having to remortgage my house but prices at the minute are insane

You know if you get a whole Oly setup, I am going to be super jealous. Your pole will be bigger than mine.

I’d be wary of buying any cardio equipment to have at home. I wouldn’t have any excuse not to do it.

Power cage I could borrow is too big to fit where I was planning on putting it so have forked out and bought some Squat stands. They have handles for dipping as well. Bloke selling it had an old bench and matting so got those too. Just waiting a few more days for bar and plates and I can get at it.
Been doing a bit of stuff at home, noting of note, just can’t get on with bands and kettlebell.

Got a few questions about that little rig, because I came across one or two recently and have been wondering:

-Is it solid?
-Don’t this metal bits sticking up get in the way of the dip handles?

It’s very solid, haven’t tried racking a bar yet, but it much more stable than I was expecting.
The upstanding cups don’t get in the way at all, and it’s really stable to do Dips on, I’d like it to be able to go a touch narrower, than narrowest position, bit is still fine.

I’m going to get a spin bike, and possibly some 5-20kg adjustable bowflex type dbs, and possible a couple of pairs of heavier dbs.

I really excited to get the bar and weights, was thinking about programming with a home set up, that could mean multiple low volume sessions a day?

Ps. Re dipping it’s stable which ever side you dip from, so up stands definitely not an issue however low you could go.

Interesting. I DOES look a bit wide, though. Some prefer it that way, but I like it a bit narrow. Let me know how it goes once you get a couple plates hanging between your legs.

That might be a little while, feel very weak at the moment, struggled to get 10 with Bw earlier.

That a pile of 20s? LIKE ARE YOU MADE OF MONEY.

Stuff is pretty scarce here, so that is almost like having a pile of gold.

Nice - the question is, now what

@Cyrrex got 6 20’s, and other weight to make 170kg with bar, hoping to get another couple of 20’s, 2x5kg and 2x1.25kg in next few days when I pick up a spin bike from my gym. Got a pair of 30kg dbs, a single 20kg Db and a pair of 7kg dbs
So far I’ve spent Ā£250. (bar, plates and dbs are borrowed.)

I thinking now I’ve managed to get all this together gyms will reopen in a few weeks!

@burnur
I’m thinking of this for a few weeks:
Upper A
Shoulder press ss Chins
Dips ss pushups
Biceps ss abs

Lower A
Squat low rep
Deadlift moderate
Calves

Rest

Upper B
Incline db press ss barbell row
Bnp ss Lateral raises
Triceps ss abs

Lower B
Deadlift low rep
Squat moderate
Calves

Rest, repeat.

I’ve got much fatter over the last 6 weeks, I did pretty much the same programme last year, was doing 10mins of fast walk on i cline treadmill between the super sets on upper days, and about 40 mins of Cv on rest days and dropped weight pretty quickly.

Pretty sweet you were able to put that together for relatively little cash outlay.

I have spent more than that to get much less, but I tell myself that there may well be more waves of this thing that forces me to train from home. Plus, maybe even when gyms open it will be nice to do some stuff from home anyway.
