Leg Press is More Natural Than Squat

yes squatting down is natural, but putting heavy weight on your neck then squatting down is totally different if you have relatively long femurs your balance will be all messed up, which of course makes it ineffective because its an awkward movement to do.

Now with leg press, its like squatting on some planet which has higher gravity, its practically squatting without the awkwardness of your upper body being pressed down against floor, all of the focus on the legs.

the best thing would of course be to have some sort of belt that could hold weight and you just squat down or something.

And deadlifts are more natural than leg press again, who squats down to pick up stuff from the ground honestly? you bend over pick something up and straighten yourself up again, aka deadlift except what your picking up is damn heavy.

I can squat about 1/3 of what I can leg press. Squats be king. Leg press requires no balance or control of the weight. And as for natural, I think people put to much respect on natural, heart surgery and flying are not natural but dang they good. Barbell squats may be unnatural but it is a far more effective workout than using a leg machine, however I do use a leg machine after squats to push to faliure.

Short/long , squatting might bring more results in the short term, compressing our spine long term might not be optimal approach.
After squatting, hanging knee raises might be smart or even just hanging, streeetching our spine.

I read in the nutrition forum we only need 60 grams of protein a day.

This shit is getting ridiculous

Gotta agree. What IS going on lately. It’s as if a horde of trolls have formed together to launch an all out offensive on the bodybuilding forum of Tnation.

Babies all squat and pretty much all do it with perfect form. As we grow we lose the ability because we stop doing it. Ironically for this thread, squatting is one of the most basic natural movements a human can do. Its as natural as walking on 2 legs.

long femurs is pussy code for “it’s hard so I don’t like it”. Leverages may make it to where as a bodybuilder it doesn’t hit the muscles you want it to, but not being able to squat because of leverages is BS in my book. You can’t squat because you don’t have the mobility or you lack the will.

Didnt know that babies squat all they long with a barbell on their backs…

Not saying that squatting with a barbell is bad, but dont think it is an natural excercise. Agree that squatting as a motion is natural, just not with a barbell on your back. I squat btw, but I suck hard at it.

WHAT THE FUCK IS ALL THIS “NATURAL” EXERCISE BULLSHIT ALL EXERCISES ARE FUCKING NATURAL

Well, do you think humans have ever had to stand up with something on their back trying to capture or kill them? In the case of a zercher or front squat, do you think humans have had to do similar motions to them in some cases? What if someone couldn’t walk because of an injury, I can see someone squatting down, have the person on there back, standing up and carrying like that, or in a similar fashion to a zercher.

it’s as natural as any other exercise. Who sits at a 45 degree angle and pushes weights up with their legs? Whens the last time you seen someone laying on their back and pushing something straight up. Who alternates their grip and picks shit up. The point of an exercise is to strengthen/build muscles the squat does that from the neck down.

With weight and a loaded spine (relative to their strength), yes. It’s how they pick up things.

Did I say that squats didnt build strenght/muscle or that legpresses is a natural movement?

I only objected to the argument that BARBELL squat is the most natural movement in the world because babies sits in a squat position all day long. Thats it.

Again I do BB squats every week, so I am not anti-squat.

Would not that be more like a deadlift with a squat stance?

The title of the thread is

Leg Press is More Natural Than Squat

again I say
it’s as natural as any other exercise. Who sits at a 45 degree angle and pushes weights up with their legs? But I will translate for you The Leg Press is NOT more natural then the squat
