Leg Press and Belts

Why don’t leg press machines have the airplane belt (like the pullover machine has for ex.)? Sometimes with heavy weight, I cant help my lower back coming off the seat (bad) and would like a belt just in case to prevent it. Is this a bad idea? why?

If your back/butt is coming off the seat, I’d imagine youre doing something wrong.

I’d also imagine a belt across your hips keeping you belted down would be quite uncomfortable if theres any reasonable amount of pressure on it.

I can only imagine you mean in the bottom position of the press, in which your butt/lower back is lifting off the pad?

That’s primarily a result of a lack in hamstring/hip flexibility, so bolting your ass to the seat would simply result in you either:

A) Not being able to come down as far

B) Tearing your hamstring/glute

Also, strapping somebody into a chair that has hundreds of pounds loaded above them might be somewhat of a safety concern…
