How many people hear do light leg extensions first when working legs to warm the muslces? Ive heard this is so many magizines its crazy.
Why would you warm-up with leg extensions, unless you were doing leg extensions.
I’d rather involve more muscles for a warm-up. It’s not that you’re wrong but there are more effective ways.
To continue or complete that warm-up, you want to do some leg curls as well no?
I know alot of guys that do it. I prefer to use the stationary bike with a little resistance to warm up my leg before squats. Just kind of gets the blood flowing and loosens up my hips.

Yes, that’s my method as well. Works great.
I do leg extensions superset’ed with bodyweight squats. I feel it helps me loosen up.

same here along with some BW Squats, BW Lunges, side lunges, and lunges with rotation (not always all of those, but a combo there of)
I love these before squats. Wakes my knees up.
I warm up with light cardio and BW squats.
I only leg ext after a compound exercise like squats, it just doesn’t feel that good on my knees to go super heavy on the leg ext machine.

well if your warming up you wouldnt go super heavy anyway but yea i agree.
I used to know a bodybuilder girl who was also a Physical Therapist and her husband a Chiro. I was talking to her one time, she was doing extensions to get ready for Squats. I asked “your doing Extensions before Squats?” She said yes, as part of her warmup. I then asked her if she does heavier Extensions again after Squatting and she said yes.
I never did it this way but it seamed like a reasonable plan.

yeah, I meant that I don’t even like doing them when my knees aren’t warmed up so I would never use them as a warm-up for squats. I used to and I didn’t like it. Rather warm up with light squats for squats, light deadlifts for deadlifts, etc.

ahh gotcha
I think most just do maybe some light cardio, or just your warm up sets on squats. I usually just do my warm up squat sets, then get to work.
