(Left) Shoulder Injury

I have a shoulder injury that prevents me from doin a lot of different exercises. The only bodyparts that I can even work now are legs/bis/tris/back. My chest/shoulders are totally out of the question. The doctor didn’t tell me to stay away from the gym–he said to stay away from working my chest and shoulders. Well, when I work my back, bis, or tris, my shoulder still hurts about an hour after I finish. So, my question is this: Do I stop lifting all together and wait until my shoulder totally heals, or do I just stay away from chest and shoulders like the Doc said?–which could be up to 4 months.

What is exactly wrong with your shoulder, that you can not do chest and shoulders, but back and and arms. If is muscular in nature then ART or structual intergrator could help.
