Hey T-people,
I have a quick question regarding a shoulder injury. I have had this ailing problem due to a bench injury for over 9 months now. I have been to see successive ART therapists, but the problem still persists. I was told I pulled my pec, and possibly even tore it. My current ART therapist said that the problem should be corrected. My question is, could something else be going on that I should get checked out by a medical physician. I really feel a tightness in my shoulder where the pec connects with the shoulder. Any advice would be much appreciated. THANX!
I am just getting over a torn Shoulder with a mild tear in my pec, I went to a physiotherapist and she put me on some super light exercises, and make sure you aren’t lifting heavy, or better yet, at all.
You have to put your ego in the closet and leave it there until you are healed, I was using the 2lbs weights for the last week, I felt like an invalid, but I am recovering and thats all that matters to me.

It has been injured for about 9 months, and I have seen 2 ART therapists. Have tried to let it rest,to no avail. I just wanted to make sure that nothing terribly serious is going on (IE cancer, etc). IB prophen and Tylenol help a little, but the muscle is still kinda stringy feeling. THANX!
Ransomed, I would listen to Dave on this one. I had a problem with a tear in my front deltoid for over a year, and I’m still getting back into lifting heavy very gradually. I spent nearly a year doing nothing but swimming (mostly breast stroke so that I was not swinging my arms as in freestyle). Then I used light dumbbells (5, 8, and 10lbs) to do some rehab/strengthening exercises.
I knew I had a tear because I’d done it before, and they really can take over a year to heal. I was overtrained when it happened and paying way too much attention to chest exercises. In fact, my back was too weak for my chest, and I think that was creating some imbalances. Now, as I’ve gotten back into lifting over the past 6 months, I have focused on my back, legs, and shoulders just as much as my chest. I know it sucks to see your gains slip away, but when you heal, you will probably able to build yourself back to where you were and beyond. Also keep in mind that ART breaks up scar tissue that binds the fascia to the muscle and that your injury may not even be healed enough for ART to be effective.
If you’re really concerned go get an MRI and see whats really going on in there
