Left On Broadway

yeah, im pasty…

scarlet and grey EVERYTHING! no headwear left out.

hell yeah!!! buckeyes baby!! if you would of snuck in a gyro it would of been the epitome of class and tickled every jealous bone in mah body.

  1. Gyros are wonderful. No arguing.
  2. Bear, how do you look so cute in pictures?
  3. Nice that you have someone to confirm your “lat rolls.”

Nice farmer’s tan!
Lat rolls - should those be called LOLs?

^that’s a pretty cute name for them!

Bear, I am hardcore jealous of your long hair. I cut mine off in a rebellious stint around graduation and I miss it so much. I have dreams about it being long again and will it to grow every day.

I spent $15 dollars on barely a handful of food at the football game yesterday but it was sooo gooood. When I saw your comment about that I lol’d

Seriously, you are the cutest thing ever.

I vote against the worn-out Pumas now that you have new ones. If my damned feet were shaped for speedcats (they sadly are not) I would join you in that.

deja- wouldnt have been no sneakin in of gyro. would’ve had to have a suitcase full of em, as one probably wouldnt have made it through the parking lot. (did i mention we parked in the garage across the street?)

alisa- 1) glad you agree. you may live. 2) because i’m so damned cute irl! my humility is my best quality, though. 3) so am i. im also lucky he doesnt care if my legs are shaved, as long as its happened sometime in the last month or so. hippie/european status is not appreciated.

cal- brilliant idea. lat rolls from now on may be called LALs, to prevent confusion with LOLs.

plucky- mine spends most of its time in a bun… realized a long time ago my patients and co workers really dont give a shit about my hair, as long as its not green or falling into their rx bottles. so, i stopped caring most of the time as well. saves me a shitload of time in the am, which of course means more sleep. win win.

kimba- i really am, arent i?! oh i still like hearing it though. i know i should wear the new pumas, but the old pair was free and im determined to ride that train till it dies. now that i have boots for winter type weather, i wonder how long the new ones will last. speedcats are not ideal for ohio winters.

definitely did not lift today.

got a lil bit of streching/gpp in, though!

im thinking about dreading how out of shape i’ll really be when i start back at the gym on the regular again… but im mostly excited about the change of seasons/lifestyle.

we went shopping again today (seriously how lucky am i. pegg will look in any store i want for as long as i want, no bitching/whining/huffing or anything.) and i restocked some of my stuffs from Aveda, used my double birthday points, got my free birthday perfume (#20), and the latest postcard sample. the lady was awesome and let me use all of it bc i told her i live far away.

also, I GOT A KINDLE!! yeah, its a lot of monies to throw down on something, but, with the english major and the inexpensiveness of ebooks compared to printed, and the reduction in crap i’ll hafta carry around, i figure it’ll pay for itself soon enough, and i like things like that.

I did not get the 3G, i got the wifi instead, because that much of a technology leap in my house at one time may or may not have caused spontaneous combustion.

If you don’t know Aveda or Kindle, they’re worth googling, i’ll save you the Bear styled explanations. Their level of awesome is high, and discussion is welcome.

mostly i just wanna watch more Nip/Tuck on my netflix instant.

Kindle is the shiz. I bought it, didn’t use it for two years, and now I use it all the time.

I’ve worn the pumas so much for so long that there’s a hole in the sole and the side has blown out…

  • males- take off your hat during the national anthem. not up for debate. i wasnt about to ruin jasons first game by kicking that son of a bitch in the back of the head, so i loudly told jason what i thought about it, and im pretty sure the guy heard me, because he was sitting right in front of us…

  • i still, every time, get goosebumps and chills when the OSU band plays. it’s a jump up and down, screaming type thing that happens just like during the game.

  • stadium food. wildly expensive but so delicious.

As usual the Monday Cbear update makes me laugh. True knowledge that all Pumas rock. Gene Bell had blue high top Puma lifting shoes that rocked (you can’t get them anymore). Sadly my teenage son has sold out to Underarmour and Nike fo rhis cleats…takes after his mom i guess.

The national Anthem thing burns my butt too. Military folks are required to stand at attention any time you hear it in or out of uniform. If you don’t want to put your hand on your heart or take you hat off then shut up for 2 minutes. And oh while i am ranting how about curbing the F-bombs if my kid is sitting by me? Some Giants fans recently approached a life changing experience over this issue. Rant complete.

HS and college bands at Football games are amazing. As noted above national Anthem rocks me every time i hear it. So does drumline of “Kiss Him Goodbye”. (Starts at 1:47) Amazing Victory Song.

Grilled pig+pigskin=Why Pork is not evil.

Lots of good stuff goin on and positive things to look forward to…your in such a better place compared to a year ago.

andy- i keep picking up the kindle and gazing with awe at it… took me abt an hour to read all 10 chapters of the users guide, bc i kept stopping to play with it. that thing is capable of processes which i will never use. still cool to know its smarter than the first shuttle.

jack- hang your kid from the ceiling fan by his nike cleats and turn it on. that should get the idea across! and i will apologize to you for the fbombs im sure that flew out of my mouth while upset at the national anthem guy. there were two youngins behind us. WHOOPSIE!! kids should definitely learn to articulate before they learn to swear. makes the swearing so much more fun, i think.

MIM- awwww, you remember me from a year ago!! does that make my online character old? hmmmm.

monday night training- international bench press day.

pegg has announced that i will be following 5/3/1 again.

yay for structure!!

flat bench, rings on the rings, wraps on last set. 45x5, 65x3, 85x3, 95x3, 135x3. ← money set was shit. wobbly, had trouble unracking, was retarded enough to not grab a liftoff/spotter, and im sure a drunk 3 year old drew my bar paths with a crayon. all of this to almost not make my 3rd rep… fear of being pinned was what saved me. not that i woulda been hurt, but my pride would have needed a splint and an icepack.

accessory work was whatever i wanted, so i did-

pronated bb rows, rings on rings, 4x10, 65lbs

incline flyes, 3x15, 15lb dbs

bw hypers, 3 or 4 x15

though about jumprope and decided on tmilling instead. 3.0mph, 5% incline, 10 min. i was ready to scream with boredom after min 6. i dunno how those neurotic figure athletes do it.

felt good to be back. and, i brought my ipod, so only visual assholery, and the late hour made even that scarce.

nice work-

football game looks awesome.

aveda does make good shit
they make mens shit too
( wife is in the product business)

Love Aveda.

My sister’s husband is a prof at OSU. Good times at those games.

I’ve been using the Kindle app on an i-touch and really like it, much to my surprise. I think I’ll try hanging my ten year old from a ceiling fan next, might improve things

She’d love it, that is for sure.

OK, your bench money set might’ve sucked, but you are back in the gym and workin’ it. Nice.

I have loved 5/3/1. Its just enough structure, with alot of flexibility too. I plan on keeping with it for awhile.

good music + OCD, or, more likely, cat drugs

There’s a reason i was gone, but first, i must announce i am now aware of fupa cleavage.

what has been seen, cannot be unseen…

as brief a summary of the last few days as i can-

(you KNOW i can’t be brief.)

wed- first day of school! as excited as ive been, im now that disappointed, but not losing hope. either im the only one in all 3 classes NOT subject to first day jitters, or, its going to be an incredibly boring quarter, me doing all the talking. ok who am i kidding. it’ll be great! also, why the fuck would you show up to a 2 day per week spanish class on the first day WITH NO BOOK?! its SPANISH! you’re going to need the book!

wed night- training at the local.

deadlift, money said was 235x4, not too shabby. didnt take as much rest as i usually do, mostly bc i wasnt at efs on a day off and no real time limit. high volume short rest good mornings and lying leg curls, then some seated calf raises, first set with long pauses at top and bottom to stretch.

wed night late- realized laptop battery was dying, and that it wasnt drawing power from the cord. after various un-and re-plugging, brother looks at the cord itself, to find 4 areas with teeth marks and exposed wires. fuck. fuck fuck fuckity fuck.

thursday am- was so excited. got up way early (for me.) and got all kinds of shit done. put away 3 weeks worth of laundry, did dishes, swept the kitchen floor, cleaned the bathroom, SHOWERED (even washed my hair), before work.

then, on the way out, carrying a trash bag, lunch, and drink, i lost all motor coordinatioin and rolled/popped/sprained my ankle coming off the last step from my building.

a few immediate notes- im ok, i can walk, stand, etc. im not necessarily looking for advice, but i am not discouraging anyone. i will either consider or point and laugh.

no, i havent been to the dr, because i know its not broken. bro came right down when i called him, with aleve and an ice pack, where i already had it elevated. after abt 20 min of ice, nurse mom (for real. shes an rn in an er. or ed, theyre calling em now. that one always makes me giggle.) had showed up and determined that it wasnt broken, dislocated, and nothing was detatched. she emphatically suggested that i call off work and do what i know i need to.

but i have a sickness and i went anyway, after they’d taped me up with a bag of ice and a towel. we’re still short on help, my promotion still hasnt been approved, and that looks REALLY good, me coming in injured for the good of the company.

or, i have some serious obligation issues and didnt want to screw the people there by making them short yet another person.

so now im iced and elevated before work today, minimal pain, bruising, and swelling. dont like goin down steps but i’ll take it relatively easy while im home, and keep up the anti inflammatories. i’ll give myself a few days before i start “real” drugs.

before this sounds too much like a pity party, ive been in an incredibly good mood, because i know im still an incredibly lucky bastard.

p.s.- must tell you how awesome pegg is. he brought me beer, a new power cord, wrapped and iced my ankle so i wouldnt have to (again), cleaned up the kitchen spotless, and ran the dishwasher. then, some awesome discovery channel type activities.
