Made me smile. I went through that briefly only to realize that the “me” that was responsible, that accomplished things was actually way better. Back pack through a foreign country alone? check. diving in crystal waters alone? soon to be check. Being responsible doesn’t mean missing out. Adventures just become different, more meaningful and worthwhile.
Rock on CBear. Congratulations on your meet. Impressive lifting and crazy impressive self-control beforehand. ![]()
And most of all, mad respect for having the balls to press the “submit” button. I agree with everything you said, and appreciate the insight it took to write it all out that well.
You’ve certainly packed alot of living into a short period of time.
That was awesome insight Cbear. I definetely relate to where you’re coming from; especially the ‘future seems daunting.’ I don’t know about you, but I just want to hit the pause button for life and just… breathe.
I love and respect the bear you are too ![]()
<3
a pause button would be awesome!
CB- you are an old soul who is young at heart. Thanks for sharing your musings!
congrats on your meet, you are one very determined woman.
So off topic but… your such an interesting read have you ever thought about being a writer?
n- i know that being responsible doesnt mean missing out… just means i hafta do all that much more piddly shit. or maybe that’s the job choice and financial aid for school… lol. grrrr. gonna hafta hear more abt the backpacking stories sometime!
frzn- its been both good and bad, but balls is something i’ve never really been lacking. yis.
kimba- “life’s a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!”- auntie mame
nikki- you hafta schedule the pause button. few hours here, 10 or 15 min on the internet before work there, book on the nightstand, keeps my sanity (lol) in check. that lifting weights thing helps, too.
MIM- I’ve wondered about that old soul thing before. Half the time i attribute it to how i was raised*, the other half i just make shit up.
*my grandparents were old when they had my parents, and my parents were 28 and 32 when they got married, so they were “old,” having kids, and im the 4th. dad is 66 and mom is 62…neither look it, both still work, and they raised their kids the way they were raised. dad being a Colonel in the AF reserves probably had a lot to do with that, too…
upscale- well look at you, walkin in here in a bikini, wanderin over from the other side. you show up kissing ass and i like that. you can hang around.
on a more serious note, yes, i’ve thought about being a writer. however, the market is so saturated and the internet has enabled EVERYONE to be a writer, so its not really a viable career option when i look at the opportunity costs. I do, however, keep a journal, which i might get the motivation to try getting published someday. think Tucker Max, from a womans side.
I’m working on Volume II at the moment, only because my dog found and chewed up the USB drive that Volume I is on. Having Galileo work on that in his spare time, but im counting on having lost that 2.5 years worth of writing. oh well.
the dog, you may ask, IS still alive. for now. ![]()
haven’t trained or done shit this week. (ok, well, i done shit, a couple times a day, but u catch my drift… sorry, i’ll turn the fan on next time…)
going through jason’s stuff we found an electric heating pad he’d never used, and he graciously let me take possession of it. had that wonderful piece of technology on my back and/or my hips at night till i go to sleep, and it feels AMAZING!
btw, i watched jason edit the videos from the meet last night, so if it’s not on youtube by this evening, i encourage the natives to get all rowdy.
doing that, we came across some things to work on, that i havent already mentioned.
-more quad work
-consistent bench pattern
-more hip work
-may or may not bring my dl stance in. (mim, u can say it)
thats in addition to
-more back work
-more hamstring work
-learning to keep my damned elbows tucked!
for those of you who have paid attention lately, this is the reTARDs last day, before her “educational leave.” i asked if i could get her a cake that said, “good riddance,” and she declined. I also told her everyone put $5 in a pool and are betting on how long she lasts. i gave her through her first set of midterms.
peace out for a few, bitches. i gots to go play with some morbidly obese, entitled, ignorant, petty, twofaced assholes for a few hours.
and those are my co-workers, not gonna touch on the customers yet…
ha-ass kisser.Well the 2 pack is my favorite female body part. But no worries, i certainly wouldnt piss down your back and tell you its raining…
i do believe it was a picture of your back that intrigued me,the whole back cleavage thing.
AND i was actually quite serious on the writer thing.
I liked your musing – good for you. I aspire to live the same way.
Also, you’re so lucky to be with someone who gives you lifting advice.
Sorry about missing a few of the attempts. Had a lot going on, as I was, at one point, attempting to do this meet too, before I blew out my life in the warmup room. Had some mixups, as it is impossible to handle, and get videos, and all that entails.
Jason
AWESOME VIDEO!!!
Yeah, the lifting was good times. But I just kept thinking, “damn, CBear looks hawt in that singlet”.
yay!!!
of course who wouldn’t love the ending of that vid?
Great first meet despite everything. Onto the next one!
Awesome work CBear. I love the dance ![]()
But you definetely have a right to dance for winning your first comp being the lightest in the class. I’m surprised that you didn’t moonwalk haha
love the vid. a cbear in gear is a treat for the eyes ![]()
Loved the vid! Love the singlet and the DL socks!! Especially loved the bear dance! Awesome job, Claire!
HAHAH! Awesome vid! And yeah, the singlet is perfect and the dancing is genius. Thanks for that!
I was totally yelling at the video on your third attempt squat and then did it again on deads.
300 is yours. You just need to do it on a day that you don’t feel like shit and haven’t already maxed on everything else.

Loooove it!
told you bitches i’d post my pr happydance! it was HYOOOOGE meet pr! ![]()
i wouldve moonwalked if i could, and i find myself yelling/leaning toward the monitor everytime i watch it, too. i got a lot farther out of the hole on that squat than it felt, though.
i worked 10 hours. i want my glasses my comfy pants and a book. think i’ll go do that.
You made the 160 bench and 240 deadlift look easy. (Nice dance, btw…)
Mrrmm…I need to get all my joints fixed up so I can start lifting properly again.
