Nothing wrong with the flash cards, I am currently seing flashcards in my sleep since I am studying for an EMT-B course…It’s the only way I am getting thru it and pounding all that sheeeeeiiittt in my thick dense brain.

Tattoos & tanning generally do not mix but alas I am the queen of a Farmers tan - if I had a ounce of pride it should bother me, but it don’t so I walk around all racoon eyed and a noticealbe tank top farmers tan that is now permenant I swear.

Oh well as I said I should have some pride but the husband or the cows dont really care or complain so I dont let it bug me to much :wink:

As diverse of a palette as I have for the ladies, I always have to scratch my head at the need for tanning. If you ain’t naturally darker-skinned, why try for it? I prefer the luminescent white over tanned-white any day. I like the contrast.


I like this outline format. Mostly because I’m lazy and if I see one big block of text I won’t read it but the same amount of text divided up doesn’t seem so bad. Something about the white space.

I’m still waiting to hear from work about getting off for spring break…

As always, I am entirely reasonable. And it was a delicious taste.

My approach to sun is this: I feel better when my skin makes natural vitamin D, so when its warm enough to do so, I lay out on my back deck for exactly 20 min. a day. No one can see me, so clothing is…minimal. Except for my hat and enormous sunglasses to completely cover my face.

This way I get a light tan, but more importantly the sun exposure makes me feel like a million bucks. Any other time I’m outdoors, say for bicycle riding or running, I wear sunscreen.

The shit in suncream is pretty nasty, truth be told. I’d sooner get a short burst of exposure for my vit D and then grab something loose to cover up afterwards. My pasty Anglo-Saxon complexion does not take sun at all well.

no training today. no surprise.

woke up WAY too early after not being able to fall asleep, and got ready to go with Goat to COSI. It was then I remembered I still wanted a DXA scan like jason had… i happened to still have the Doc’s card, sent an email and left my #… had a txt within 10 minutes, and an appointment for 1130.

I’m not pregnant, and well hydrated. (lol. they hafta test those.)

the labia jewelery showed up but wasnt obvious. I was able to take the rest out/off. not looking forward to putting it back in. fuck captive beads.

I’m 27% bf- with a 4 pack, most days.

my hip and lumbar bone density is amazing. my radius/ulna… average. I need to press/push more. fuck. i hate that half. i’d much rather squat/pull, and it shows.

my right trunk has one more lb of muscle than my left… something my massage lady warned me about the last time i was in… said i wasnt far off from having neck/shoulder issues bc i wasnt paying enough attention outside of her visits to those knots… whoopsie.

my android/gynoid ratio is “good.” this means i have big/ass hips. :slight_smile:

So freakin’ jealous you got a DEXA. You would think that getting a masters through the Kinesiology and Health Sciences department would give me the resources or opportunity to get one done.

the real short answer to your reasonable, motherly type questions is- not a whole lot, right now.

The tentative plan-

Last night, I spent 30 min on the foam roller and with the lax ball on the wall. I still have knots in my back and quads. Need moar of this. So i’m leaning up against my heating pad while I’m posting.

I WOKE UP EARLY. I dont hafta be at work till 2.

Not fucking with the diet and training 5 weeks out from a meet, outside of actually GOING to the gym to do what im supposed to do.

AFTER the meet, though, I know it’ll be a few weeks before i’m “lifting” again, and can use this time to reassess what changes i’m willing to make with the diet. I’ll have no real time off between now and graduation from school, in december. I have to be realistic and keep that stress in mind.

I can also play with hill sprints, car pushes, and climbing.

Theres a small part of me that thinks i could make the doorway/pullup rule effective… 1 pullup every time i go through the living room doorway… theres another part of me that knows i would share kitty’s pan to avoid the doorway.

I did not know that a DEXA scan would come up with so much interesting information in addition to BF%. Very interesting.

If you are going to pick anything to change up, deal with the imbalance/knot issue that is most likely going to lead to short-term problems. That’s eminently do-able. And you’d be so pissed off at yourself to end up with neck/shoulder problems after you’ve had fair warning.

I’m jealous of the DEXA too. I just posted in my log about how I’m curious about the bone density in my arms because of the work that I do. Funny that I come to your log and read your results. That shit would cost me a fortune because I have THE crappiest health insurance possible.

Since I am a bone/soft tissue/biomechanics geek I would love to hear some of the other “less interesting” results.

I’m acutally surprised that you’re at 27% BF - you look hella lean in your pics (which are fucking fantastico!). I remember when everyone scoffed at my BF guesstimate saying that it was too high, what now bitches?

Anyways, if you like how you look, lift like you do (beast mode on that 315 btw!) and your health isn’t suffering, then why bother making changes? I mean, why fix what’s not broken? Def deal with the knots and such, and yes, get that smoking to “social smoking” levels, at least…but the diet seems more a question of vanity at this point. Altho, if you’re eating Uncrustables, I advise you stick a piece of chicken in there, or something with nutritious value…
