Luke and his mom are doing well, he’s been moved out of ICU and is in a regular room. assuming things keep goin well, it might be as soon as Wednesday that he gets to go home!
saturday jason and i played 18 holes of golf* in a measly 7 hours and 30ish minutes. omg. it was my boss’s annual pharmacy fraternity thing, and much lols were had. i got myself a SWEET sunburn, bc i’m an idiot and didnt put the sunblock on soon enough. was also the final hurrah with my bossfriend. sigh.
*of course i mean that i drank and drove the cart and supervised. why would you give me a gas powered golf cart if you didnt want me driving all over the course like a maniac and aiming for squirrels the size of my dog?
sunday i went in to efs to squat while they were finishing up benching. worked up to 155x5 for a few sets, and it took me a bit to remember how to squat and make everything work all at the same time. few sets of wall squats and i was alright. ended up doin a few doubles just to cement things a bit.
i liked feeling something heavy on my back and working hard, then got a lil ego pinch when i looked at the bar with just a wheel on each side. ah well. proam training starts next week, and i demand PR’s in my future.
today it was just jason and i in the gym (he went just bc i wanted to… hes so wonderful about humoring me on these things sometimes) and benching felt MUCH smoother than my squatting had.
jas gave me some awesome tips for unracking, with or without a liftoff, to keep my back tight- pull the bar apart out of the rack, rather than using my shoulders to do it. bar comes up just enough that i dont have to completely reset before the lift. makes a lot of sense, but i never would have thought of it on my own.
worked up to 95x3 for a few sets and followed with some kroc rows, 60x20. definitely used straps cuz im still a bit of a puss, but it felt good getting in there.
5guys post gym and prolly gonna head to my parents later tonight.
for those interested, i napped for about 3 hours last night before we went to dinner, then slept from 10pm to about 1030 am today. lil help from some norco 10 and ibuprofen (for the sunburn… of course…) and i must say, i feel like i could use another 12 hours right now. not that i feel like junk, i just want MOAR!!
