She’s got my shoes!
Post up the pics, don’t be shy.
Looks like you had a blast, wish I could have gone, but it’s to far away to drive for me.

A few thoughts on snow:
I’ve had enough, give it a break already
I don’t care if gas costs me my left arm, I’m not giving up my truck
If you come to a full stop at stop signs, please be consistent about it. Don’t cruise slowly through one then full stop at the next. I will hit you, I swear I will
Buy some winter tires, WTF, this is Montreal asshole
Just because you drive at 10kms an hour, don’t give me a dirty look when I pass you. I wouldn’t be out here is I didn’t have to be somewhere at 8:30 am. Since your not in a hurry, go back home.
That’s it, I feel better now.
Today was very weird. In the morning I had to push Mark’s car out of the driveway, it was stuck in 15cm of ice/snow. I did it in kitten heel boots too (he was blocking my truck, and I had to get going).
It was my first day at the new job. I hate first days, the deadline for the contract I was doing for them was moved up one week, so in the past 24 hrs I’ve had about 4 hours sleep. And everyone wanted to say hello, didn’t you used to work for us, I love the screen on your computer (it’s not a screen, it’s a computer) and I was not very sociable LOL.
The Mac was acting up, so all the comments about how neat-o it is was making me insane! I finally came up with the answer “Yes, it’s nice, almost too good to be true”. Now leave me alone and go make a spreadsheet or something.
I sweet talked a janitor into the lock pass for the “gym”. There was no way I was gong to drive across town to the real gym. So I did manage an upper body day.
A1 Flat Bench (what should have been decline, no decline at the “gym”) 1x8x65lbs, 3z8z75lbs
A2 Flys (what should have been decline, no decline at the “gym”) 4x8x15lbs
B1 Seated Rows (what should have been T-Bar rows) 1x8x45lbs, 1x8x60lbs, 2x8x75lbs
B2 1 Arm DB Rows 2x8x20lb dbs, 2x8x25lbs dbs
C1 Cable Crossovers 4x8x20lbs
C2 Close Grip BO Rows 4x8x45lbs
D1 Incline DB Press 4x8x20lbs dbs
D2 Close Grip Pull Down 4x8x70lbs
This “gym” is full of machines that I have no idea how to use, but they have a ham/glute raise. There is no squat rack, but a Smith machine. There is no room to do a deadlift, and only one olympic size bar. Actually there is one OL bar, one EZ bar, and one 35lb bar. But they have nice DBs up to 100lbs. Everything seems backwards.
I am so used to having my PWO shake and today, no shake. I got downstairs at about 3:45, the Starbucks in our cafeteria closes at 4 so I was like, OK, I get them to do me a shake and have it right after.
So as I’m walking out of the locker room, I dump the whole shake on the floor. So I found the same janitor that gave me the lock pass and he cleaned it up. Man did I feel bad. All in all, a very strange day.

Olympic day, my butt hurts now too.
Power Snatch
bar x 6
6 x 55lbs
6 x 60lbs
2 x 65lbs My technique was not good at all, I was not powering up enough, pressing at the top of the lift and not dropping under the bar to catch it. But this is still up 5 lbs from last week.
4 x 60lbs this was fine
4 x 65lbs really hard for some reason but my form was better. Power and technical snatch are my weak points. This is the lift that frustrated the hell out of me in December. Today I accepted it was hard, tried to correct it and moved on. I’ll nail it next time.
Front Squat/Drop/Clean (2 each per rep)
bar x 4
3 x 65lbs
3 x 65lbs
3 x 70lbs
3 x 70lbs up 5lbs, need to get my elbows up more on the squats.
Split Clean/Split Jerk (4 cleans, 4 jerks, alt. legs)
warm up with bar
4 sets x 75lbs. Up 5lbs, I used some pretty bad language doing these, it just slipped out.
Back Squat/Jerk (clean from floor, split jerk to get it overhead)
4x6x70lbs. I was pretty tired going into these and having a hard time with the clean, but the back squat felt good, almost relaxing. The power up was fine. It was just difficult to get the weight off the floor, but I’m still up 5lbs.
30 minutes random hills elliptical, in the zone, almost asleep. Felt really good to finish and have my shake and a big orange.
Overall pretty happy with all the lifts except the snatch. I felt off balance to start with, and that caught me by surprise. I’ve been flying thru this program for the past 4 weeks or so and expected that today would be the same. It’s OK though, if it wasn’t a challenge I’d be bitching it was too easy LOL.
I think I am still tired from the week. More snow tomorrow, another 30 cms. We are getting close to beating the record snowfall for one year. I am going to hibernate this weekend.

Thanks Kit!

Busy, busy…
OK so some training:
March 8-at home light workout shoulders/arms
Blackburns
3x15 of each movement
High Cable Scapula Pulls 1x12x10lbs, 4x12x20lbs each side, new favorite way to use the cables I have at home
Push Press 1x8x40,2x8x55, 2x8x60
Bent Over Lateral Raise 5x8x11lbs DBs
Tricep Pulldown 3x8x30lbs
Bicep EZ Bar Curl 3x8x40
That was it for Staurday, Sunday is normally a day I like to do some cardio and a metabolic circuit. I did my 30 minutes cardio, and the picture shows what I did for a 2 hour metabolic workout. It was not fun.
March 10/08
Hang Cleans (I had the OL room to myself, just me and my noisy shoes, I love it!)
bar x 5
65 x 2 x5
75 x 5
75 x 4
80 x 2
80 x 1 at this point I lost the power in my legs. My coach was there and he was happy with that, I??m up 5lbs from Thursday
Deadlift-Straight Leg
6 x 95
6 x 115
6 x 115
6 x 125
4 x 125 tried some straps but they suck
3 x 135 lots of chalk, my grip was good but my fingers were slipping
3 x 135 I wore all black today, bad choice but who cares MAJOR PR up 20 lbs from last week
Rack Pulls
5 x 135
2 x 4 x 135
3 x 135
enough! (but still up 20lbs hehehe)
Leg Curl
3 x 8 x 40lbs
1 x 8 x 50lbs
I did abs between the cleans and DL on a mat in the OL room, but no time for cardio. Got to yakking with a friend about skiing?
It all felt good, my grip felt strong, I just wish I had have put in some time running. Next time, no BSing, I never chat at the gym very much, but everyone has adventures in snow to discuss.
Looking strong!!! Love your no BSing attitude…get in, hit it hard and get out!

It helps that I don’t speak French very well, LOL.

Upper Body today at the corporate gym, it’'s not all that bad actually. I can see a way to move stuff around so there’s room for deads, and the flooring is pretty hard, can work for some OL lifts…there were other people there today, most interesting to watch.
A1 Flat Bench warm up with bar, 1x8x65lbs, 1x8x70lbs, 2x8x80lbs
A2 Flys 4x8x15lb dbs
Lady tells me “Your a strong girl!”
B1 Seated Row with rope 1x8x60lbs, 2x8x70lbs, 1x8x85lbs
B2 1 Arm DB Rows 4x8x25lbs dbs
Same lady says “Is it true that getting muscles burns fat?” I said, “I guess it is!”
C1 Cable Crossovers 4x8x30lbs
C2 Close Grip BB Rows 1x8x50lbs, 3x8x60lbs
2 dudes show up and start benching on the Smith machine with feet on the bench.
Same lady as before says, “I use these gloves so my hands don’?t hurt”. Nice lady, although she reminds me a bit of Ralph from the Simpsons.
D1 Incline DB Press 1x8x20lbs dbs, 3x8x25lbs dbs
D2 Close Grip Pull Down 1x8x75lbs, 3x8x85lbs
Skinnest, tannest girl I’ve EVA seen comes in and starts jogging on the treadmill. This girl has a lot of bling, the dudes say “Hey”. I’m guessing she wants to burn some fat, but actually she is burning bone at this point. However, she reminded me that I need to do some cardio.
Elliptical machine, hmm new machine, I’ll try the “Mountain Trek” option, level 8 should be good. Within 2 minutes I’m climbing K2. WTF??? Mountain Trek sounds enjoyable, now I’m a bit pissed off. I finished 15 minutes just to show that damn machine who’s boss.
Twist crunches with 12lbs medicine ball and SB pass-offs. I needed to lay down.
I couldn’t get a shake because Starbucks closes early and all I had was an apple. So I ate the apple and stopped at a gas station on the way home and got a bag of almonds. Simple carbs + protein right? I think I’m going to buy a small blender to take with me, I get cranky without my shake. Got home and started eating. I’ll let you know when I’m done LOL.

Now that I’m in Germany I finally got a chance to watch your videos (youtube is blocked in China!) Just wanted to say how cool they look. Your noisy shoes are awesome. OL always looks so fun. ![]()

Did ya watch any of the Powerlifting? I was there. Too bad we did not know we were each going, maybe we could have had dinner or something ![]()

Of course I watched the powerlifting…CRAZY! I watched poor Jeff (I think that was his name…500lb guy) fall during his 900lb squat yikes! Hope he is okay. Was the arnolds a national meet? Did lifters have to qualify to be there…I can see now why you guys love powerlifting so much…its very cool![/quote]
Yeah, invitational of sorts with some qualifying numbers.
Jeff - nope he is not alright, seems when the surgen went in they found that both patellas were snapped, not at the tendon, but just snapped in half. It will be a long road of recovery for him. Maybe it will make him lose weight?

Today was OL day, first time training at 9 a.m. for OL, and I sucked.
Power Snatch 6 sets of 5 bar, 50lbs, 60lbs x2, 2x65lbs same as last week, but the sets at 65lbs were horrible, I had no strength at all and had a hard time getting the bar off the floor. Many false starts, my timing was way off, I was pressing and not in the good catching position at all. For this effort, I have a sore forearms.
Squat/Drop/Clean I know I did sets of 5, but I have no idea how many. I did manage a few at 70lbs, but they killed me, seriously. Pisses me off, I pulled out a few hangs on Monday at 80lbs and felt good.
Split Clean/Split Jerk a few sets of 4 each, 5 lbs less than last week (70lbs, last week I did 75lbs). The split jerk was OK, but the jerk was really hard. I could not get the bar over my head. I usually love the jerk part and feel pretty strong doing it.
Squat jerk, this just turned into back squats with 75lbs. No power to jerk.
When I got home I slept for 2 hours and I still feel really tired. I think the whole transition into working set hours, getting up each day at 5:45 a.m. (I know WHAAAA) and working freelance at night is what killed me. I had 2 good heavy workouts this week and did a lot of shoveling on the weekend. I am so used to working in the evenings, staying up until 1 a.m. and sleeping in, then training in the afternoon that I think I need some time to adjust to the new schedule. Or maybe I just suck, without excuses. Maybe I should stop eating cookies and take up figure.
But I really like cookies.
