Layne Norton vs. Ice Cream Fitness

I think a combo of having poured COUNTLESS hours into obtaining a PhD and making a living based on his reputation played a part in it.

He did originally laugh it off because he thought it was a joke. It seemed like it wasn’t until he started to get threats and have people emailing him about how he is a fraud that he started to concern himself with it.

From the video it doesn’t seem like Layne gives a shit about the money and just wanted Blaha and his followers to stop harassing him.

It’s what Layne Norton says in his video… just let it die out. Hopefully Layne Norton and Jason Blaha can both move past this.

But still, can’t win the Internet, so why not have a laugh? Best way to treat trolls / retards is to ignore them and/or make fun of them. However, some people just can’t do that.

Also, I doubt his next paper gets rejected because some idiot claimed he is on tren. I mean who the hell listens to this Blaha guy anyway, other than some retarded teenage kids.

Both guys are actually good powerlifters and have great content on their channels. I don’t care for the drama though

I agree with you. The way media works this is going to happen no how hard you try (especially when teenagers are involved).

I also don’t have a newborn or a family to feed so I can’t completely feel for how uncomfortable the threats made Layne.

Blaha is a good powerlifter? News to me. From the videos I’ve watched he’s weak, boring, unfunny, and there’s nothing particularly impressive about his content. How he’s gained such a following seems a mystery to me…but then I realized his following is probably 90% people who have accomplished nothing in any area of fitness/strength sports and make it their goal to shout down anyone who has.

Layne said his wife and newborn child were getting threats and his reputation was getting killed

Lol sorry, I think a 1500 total is good. And again, I don’t follow or care for either of their dramatic videos

What’s really sad about this whole thing is it really makes it seem like if you claim to be a “Natty” and you get big and lean enough to win some contests we’re at the point where everyone will automatically assume you used steroids. So basically the old attitude of “Do the work and anything is possible” has been replaced by “If you’re more successful than anyone else or perform better, you probably cheated, used drugs and paid somebody off” What’s the point of having a “natty” contest if everyone automatically assumes the winner was just the guy that learned to beat the drug testing?

I don’t know all that much about Norton or this Blaha guy but Norton presents himself as an intelligent guy and used evidence to make his claims, Blaha dressed up in a Spartan costume and uses Bro logic to try and screw a guy that never did anything to him just for youtube clicks. gee who should we believe?

I came across Blaha’s latest response vid the other day and he actually comes across as an easy going guy. Not particular smart but that was expected. He also made some decent points about Norton’s vid posted above, especially how his lack of speaking skills comes across. Reminded me of Contreras’s talking vids - terrible.

But yeah, who cares…

Lots of people. I’m not going to single out this particular Youfeud but the whole response vid thing is just reality internet.

I was pretty much unaware of Blaha before his barrage last year of “I’ll tell you which ‘natural’ guys are on gear” videos. Of course I never really understood why he felt he was so qualified to make such accusations, but in today’s internet based world, I’m even more bothered (saddened) by how many clueless folks bought into such statements without any real proof whatsoever, from a guy who just sounds like a typical I’ve never accomplished anything myself/jealous/hater.

What strikes me as really pathetic (and admittedly somewhat entertaining), is hearing what was really going on with the legal correspondences, and what complete and utter BS he was then putting in his latest videos. Crazy to hear that he’d even mention the whole nonsense after getting slammed like he did.

In terms of Layne’s professional concerns, I think he was referring more to his business dealings with Scivation. That being said, I still believe Layne overreacted in a major way.

Supplement companies would see Blaha with his attitude of “AAS work, supps don’t, and you’ll never get big as a natty” as some internet whackjob at best, and a potential threat at worst. Blaha’s pretty small-time, so I doubt anyone would take his allegations very seriously (especially after watching the “Lame Nordstrom” video lol). I doubt that anything Blaha said would be of professional concern to Layne; rather, I suspect Layne knows he overreacted and is trying to justify his response.

While I do believe that Blaha was in the wrong to do a call-out in the way he did, I agree with him on one point: were Layne seeking only to end the harassment, posting a follow-up video opening up old wounds is probably not the best strategy.

I disagree with Blaha’s point about there not being many stupid PhDs. But that’s another discussion entirely.
