Oh yeah, real smart. Then the media would have said that the steroids made him suicidal.

I mean, isn’t that the reason why Benoit killed his family and himself?

Oh and Taylor Hooton, a high school baseball player that was also on steroids when he committed suicide, I mean, it couldnt have been the antidepressants he was taking…

Conclusion: Dude should have never quit using AAS, because quiters never win and winners never quit.

That’s what my football coach told me, yeah he died of some heart condition at 47, pussy. Steve Lattimer

Shoot, some girls are given the pill to help with acne, lol.

I don’t really understand where all this hate for the pill is coming from. Is it just because it is a legal steroid, and women are allowed to take “their hormone” but you guys can’t??

It’s not that at all. If an adult woman wants to take hormones to protect against pregnancy, that his her choice.

There is not a rational steroid user on this planet who will tell you it is okay for any male that is not yet fully developed - i.e. all the way through puberty - to take AAS. It is foolish, and dangerous.

Yet, you have parents taking their 11-12 year old daughters to get put on the pill. And the fucking shit doctors are more than happy to write up the script.

Worse than that is the notion that a 12 year old girl can go to the clinic and get put on the pill without anyone thinking that hormone therapy for a pubescent child might be something the parents should know about.

And at the same time, there are people sitting in federal prisons right now for selling testosterone to consenting, rational, adult males.

EDIT: In fact that is such a succinct and well written argument, I think I’ll present it to my barrister on monday before I head to court. See whether we can use it to downplay my ‘crime’.

Nice one RJ.

Good luck, brother.

Unfortunately for you, reason went out of style shortly after our species came to be… So I’d think of a backup plan…

Ok like you guys all take steroids?

Is it possible to achieve reasonable size and strenght without steroids?

And people like Lane Norton who say they are “natural”. Are they really getting this big without any “chemical” aid?

Yes, we all take steroids, lol. Just because someone doesn’t see the big deal in something doesn’t mean they take steroids.

And, no, no one has ever built a decent physique without 'roids… come on, what kind of question was that.

Bad questions formulation, sorry. Englist is a second language to me.
What I want to know is if most powerlifters take steroids and if it is possible to be competitive in PL competitions without ever taking steroids. It’s a newb and innocent question, but I really not know the answer.

I totally agree with you in that young girls should not be put on the pill (unless, I don’t know, its to improve a medical condition). The thought of 11 year old girls taking the pill, just because, is quite disturbing.

I also think the general public’s attitude towards steroids is ridiculous and I certainly don’t agree with putting men posessing them behind bars. (best of luck, Bushy)

But…when I originally posted that question, it seemed to me that some of the posters felt that it was unfair that women could take estrogen to prevent pregnancy but men could not take test to gain muscle. And to me, that just seemed like a silly comparison. I mean, I like big strong men as much as the next girl (ok probably a little more) but I don’t think that is exactly the most logical comparison. (If we were talking about the pill simply for bigger boobs, or steroids for AIDS patients, maybe).

Neither the pill, nor AAS are the problem. It’s irresponsible people and a narrow minded society.

There are many PL feds that are “drug free”. I compete in an untested fed so I don’t know just how strict they are. You can certainly be successful as a drug free powerlifter, but I doubt that you’ll ever be competing with the pros.

Whether the intended benefit is preventing pregnancy, or increased muscle size/strength, hormone therapy is a choice. Women are encouraged to use hormonal manipulation - men are incarcerated. So yes - it is unfair in my opinion.

Drug companies have advertised for years that the pill will help regulate the menstrual cycle, if not cut it down to only a week a year. At that point hormonal manipulation stops being birth control, and becomes something else. I am at a loss as to what it should be called, but “performance enhancer” doesn’t sound right.

Benoit’s was attributed to multiple years of compounded brain damage which was also linked to a few NFL players going wacko.
