Power metal is awesome and I’d say Blind Guardian is one of the better power metal bands out there. Even more awesome is the fact that I get to see them live in Vancouver in a month!

Mostly Grindcore/Metal with some Death Metal thrown in (if you want brutal stuff this is it). I’ll add links if applicable if anyone is interested

h is orange, they’re out of LA. Lead singer has a great voice, the entire band can really play.

Rap gets me goin somewhat during workouts.

I like Young Joc’s “Dope Boy Magic” and “A Couple Grand” I am not much into heavy metal hardcore stuff, but the way yall make it sound is that it actually helps… hmmm… maybe i’ll look into it.

Nonpoints newest cd-To The Pain

also all of the killswitch engage

I listen to heaps of different stuff when I work out but for the last month I have been listening to nothing except for ‘Killing in the Name of’ by rage against the machine when I squat. I dont know that it has increased my squat by 12%, but it works for me for some reason. (just dont sing the catch line to loud or you may get kicked out of the gym)

“Fuck you I won’t do what you tell me!”

That’s one of the baddest jams of all time. I get all juiced just thinking about it
[/quote]

Fuck yes. I listen to that before I squat too [that or Slipknot: “Come on motherfucker, everybody has to die”]. I like the Live version even better than studio version.

Guns up! - Outlive , get into it!

My current playlist:

Anvil of Crom - Conan the Barbarian Soundtrack
Mouth for War - Pantera
Bled for Days - Static-X
Shock - Fear Factory
Natural Born Killers - Dr. Dre & Ice Cube
Welcome to the Jungle - Guns & Roses
Master of Puppets - Metallica
This Love - Pantera
Mama Said Knock You Out - LL Cool J
Duality - Slipknot
Firestarter - Prodigy
Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck - Prong
Edgecrusher - Fear Factory

I like:

Pantera
Slayer
Metallica
System of a Down (on speed/DE days)
Korn

DD

Headstrong- Trapt
Full Flex- I have no idea, its to Team Ryokous Friday Night Madness 4 (TRICKING IS THE SHIT!!!)
Rammstein in general
Slipknot in general
Slayer in general
die motherfucker die- Dope
Any good original heavy beat techno aka Adalantai-DJ Sash

clawfinger- biggest and the best

What’s wrong with being self-possessed?
Nobody’s satisfied with being second best.
I’ve got the gift and I know that I’m blessed,
And I’ve got to get it off my chest.
I’m the biggest,
The best,
Better than the rest,
Better than the rest.
I’m the biggest,
The best,
Better than the rest,
Better than the rest.
I’m the biggest,
The best,
Better than the rest,
Better than the rest.
I’m the biggest,
The best,
Better than the rest,
Better than the rest.

How could you honestly go wrong with that? Then again it’d be so much better if I actually was anywhere near the biggest in my gym… :frowning:

I like stuff that makes me think of spies or assassins.

The Underworld, Elektra, and Blood and Chocolate soundtracks have a lot of good stuff that heavy with awesome beats.
Remixed Bond themes always work well for me too, Die Another Day going to the top of the list, followed by Golden Eye, and some of the covers of Diamonds Are Forever (seriously, they made it all industrial and things) that i found work well for me.

I also have a heavy ass remix of Madonna’s Nobody Knows Me that does the trick!

OH OH OH OH OH

and Pap Roach Getting Away With Murder, and I Wont Back Down (i think thats the name) By Fuel!!!

To name a few,

Metallica - Kill 'em All
Iron Maiden - Live after Death, something about this particular album keeps me going
Damageplan - New Found Power
White Zombie - more so then Rob’s solo stuff
Megadeth - Peace Sells or Hangar 18
Ozzy - No More Tears
Candlebox - does the trick for me
Pantera - Cowboys from Hell
Quarashi - Jinx - just to mix it up a bit
Meliah Rage - Kill to Survive
WASP - Fistful of Diamonds

so many new bands to add to my collection! Great post TY

For the not so mainstream.
Dead Kennedys - Police Truck
Primus - Jerry Was a Racecar Driver
Speedealer - Screamer
Suicide Machine - New Girl

Sugar Rays first two albums had some absolutely fabulous intense music. (Speed Home California, The Club, Mean Machine.)

some of Stone Temple Pilot’s songs like Naked Sunday, Sex Type Thing, and Down.

And just for shits and giggles, George Thorogood - Bad to the Bone.

Always good for me is LedZeplin Kashmir
and new stuff is GodSmack “Speak”
Disturbed and Nickleback “Follow you home” well Chyte I could post so many songs …

I’m suprised for all the metal heads I haven’t seen any Powerman 5000, Ministry, Circle of Dead Children, Orgy, or Deftones

Thrash Metal and all the over-the-top shit is alright but no substitute in my mind for Rage Against The Machine. The pace is perfect. It sounds raw. Tom Morello’s guitar playing just fills you with 2 pints of adrenaline. I could go on and on about that band.

I gotta mention Jimi Hendrix and Nine Inch Nails are responsible for a buncha workout tunes that make me feel even more superhuman when I’m lifting next to my fellow high school students

Strapping Young Lad is awesome for getting hyped up.

Also local Aussie acts Naiad and Tourettes are pretty god for that too.

Ohh and don’t forget Ministry
