Latest Music That Gets You Fired Up

Mississippi Queen was originally done by a very talented band called Mountain. It has more recently been covered by Ozzy Osbourne. Mountain is talented but not necessarily the best lifting music; not in the same league as Slayer!!!

Anything by Young Buck…

No fans of rap in here? My bad, Ill just go kick around some rocks…

mobb deep, dmx’s first two albums, busta, the lox, biggie, wu tang, state property … all the rappers with the best beats

slayer - south of heavan cd
pantera - anything
megadeth - hanger 18/holy wars cd
old metallica - wiplash
Korn - any cd
sepultura
a little softer - the breaking benjamin cd

i tried to switch it up last week and put on some ac/dc (whom i like alot) but i found my workout was really flat…

and although i am also a fan of death metal - i found it to be to much when working out…
i seem to do better with older speed metal/thrash/hard crunch (like pantera)

i work out at home and dont have a w/o partner, so the choice of music can make or break my workout

T.I. “What You Know”

There have been studies done that show lifting with short rest intervals acutely and temporarily increases psychological stress, so a bodybuilding or complex type of training would produce these effects. During these types of workouts I like hard shit…Drum and Bass, Carl Cox is the best for this and nothing else really comes close. For max effort days I like something with a steady beat that is moderate, I dont need a piece of white trash yelling “let the bodies hit the floor” in my ear to lift heavy…

Refused’s album, The Shape of Punk to Come, is one of my favorites when lifting. New Noise being the best song.

Rage Against the Machine’s first album is quite good to listen to while lifting.

A few song’s on Lil Jon’s Crunk Juice album makes me want to fight for some reason. Also good for heavy lifting days. [/quote]

I’m so glad someone mentioned Refused. Honestly, The Shape of Punk to come gets me pumped up like no other. Just check out “New Noise”…trust me, it will get you going.

I bet your workouts suffer from that too.

Just because you don’t like my song there is no need to call a dead man white trash. I like D & B at the club, just doesnt feel the same elsewhere.

Well, without repeating my usual lists from the previous threads; in my car at the moment for the trip to the gym is some early Sepultura, namely Beneath The Remains.

This was them at their best in my humble opinion.

Last week it was Death Angel, with the classic “Thrashers” playing on repeat.

I think the previous posts have pretty much covered it for metal. Good stuff.

Although I normally listen to old punk/alternative/hardcore.

Bad Brains. Black Flag - Damaged. Husker Du - Zen Arcade. Minor Threat. ← I’ve spent countless hours lifting to Minor Threat. Millions of Dead Cops. The first self-titled Clash cd.

And for some lighter fare, the first two Pogues cd’s are top notch.

-AC/DC (stiff upper lip gets me revved in particular)
-POD
-Saliva
-Tantric
-Taproot
-Nonpoint

adziar,

Yeah there new cd Kezia is amazing. Supposed to go to there concert last Saturday but had to work.

And to the people talking about Refused, they’re awesome too. Especially after seeing Friday Night Lights when the two teams come out of the tunnel and “New Noise” is playing in the background… man

Anything really Metallica (except St. Anger)
Chevelle
UnderOath
Anberlin
Eminem’s LP album

Really anything thrashy or just hate music like what is off of Eminems LP

Well its not exactly the latest, but nothing compares to Metallica or Megadeth…on the latest music note, I like Shinedown, Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold…i need the fast tempo hard rock, or i actually can do some techno from time to time(my Swedish side).
The worst part it that my gym plays the worst music imaginable, they play all the pop hits from Syrius. Most of them would put a newborn to sleep. My Ipod shuffle is a must have for the gym.

Grat band to see live, if you have the chance, go do it.

Korn’s show will blow your mind. I saw them at the end of March not expecting too much. I walked away in awe and now have a new appreciation for Korn.

FUCKING-A! Noce add to the already mentioned Slayer. I’m going dust my old Sepultura CD’s too.

Couple of bands not mentioned that I really get amped by while slinging steel…

Black Lable Society
Damageplan
Megadeath
Exodus
Testament

Surprised how many of you guys are metal heads!

AMEN!
