Las Vegas Gym

I am thinking of moving to Las Vegas to open up a powerlifting/hardcore gym. Any feedback/advice from the t-nation would be appreciated. Those t-nation readers that live in Vegas please give your opinion on whether not this is an all around goood idea or not. Thanks for the help & keep lifting.

Yes and no.

Yes, because there really isn’t a hardcore gym, with the possible exception of one Gold’s that I hear has been pretty much taken over by PLer’s.

No, because there isn’t a market. If there has ever been a place that has no substance and all flash, it is Las Vegas. Pumpers and toners abound. I moved away 4 months ago and don’t miss it one bit.

Vegas and hell have the same area code. I work out at Gold’s in Henderson and believe me the squat rack and power racks are always availible. What size would your gym be and how hardcore would it be. Some of the boxing gyms in town have gone under so if you had the room that might not be a bad idea to have some boxing equipment as martial arts are big in this city. Catering to police and fire fighters might be a good idea too because in this town they need to be in peak functional shape with all the crime and bs here. If you decide to open a pl gym let me know because I would definitley like to train at a more intense facility.

Very good point. MMA seems to be getting very popular there, so a gym/dojo would be a great idea.
