Anyone Train at Golds Gym San Diego?

I just started there and was wondering if any other T-Nationers lifted there as well? They have a pretty nice facility with a complete outdoor gym for nice days which is awesome.

The outdoor gym thing sounds pretty cool.

When I’m down there, I’ve gone to worlds gym. It’s pretty excellent.

Is it the one in Point Loma? I work out at Worlds and it’s pretty good.

I don’t know. I just looked it up, it’s on Garnet ave.

There were quite a few gorgeous women wearing very tight clothing there when I was there, however.

They still have a Gold’s in SD? If so, I’ll have to check it out one of these days. I use to train at a Golds that was taken over by Ballys. Although, it was shut down two years ago. It’s really unfortunate becuase I loved that gym, madd free weights and a swimming pool. It was awesome!

Is it the Golds over by the sports arena? I’ve driven by that one before, but it is too far from where I live.

yeah the World Gym in PB is sick. I went there with my girl but she liked Golds better (and it was cheaper) so we’re going there now. The golds gym in SD is kinda by sports arena… right by where the 5 and 8 meet up.

I’ve been going at night but I wanna hit that outdoor gym during a nice day. You can go shirtless and barefoot out there if you want which is pretty sick.

D’oh!

I totally forgot it was there. I used to pass by that place all the time when me and my friends would hit up Phil’s BBQ.

Yeah there are lots of really hot girls there, a pool, spa, basketball court (although only half court) and a bunch of other amenities. So far its pretty legit and there were these two Marines working out monday who were repping out 405 on squats. Nice to see some other people doing heavy lifting that isnt curls.

I just lift on base, it’s free and good enough for me now.

But you’re making a good case for Golds… eye candy is lacking on the depot. Also, no power racks. Fuckers.

I might check it out in a few months when I get my schedule settled.

Good to know there are other San Diegans… Diegoans? Diegons? Whatever… other lifters from here.

I used to lift on base until a month ago (today) when I got out. Been on the gym hunt since then. There definitely are a lot of babes at Golds which was SEVERELY lacking on base gyms.

On base is where I first started training. I trained at MCAS for a few years. Now that I think of it, it’s also where I made my best gains. I agree with you guys though, not many ladies up in there.

Sounding off. San Diego in the house.

I’m in SD part of the work-week. Train on base, always have, always will.

I can’t fathom having to pay a membership fee to train.

Yeah it sucks cause when I was in our command had their own gym and trainer who used to work at Athletes Performance Institute (where all the college guys go before the NFL Combine) it was bad ass… but now I have to pay for a membership at a gym that doesnt have versa climbers, heavy ropes/climbing ropes, doesnt let you work out inside shirtless and doesnt want chalk everywhere lol. sucky… but thats life as a civilian I guess.

hahah

I’ll have to check it out some time!

Just wondering, have any of you been to the gym at UCSD? I haven’t been there before. An acquaintance of mine who works for the campus police mentioned they have a pretty nice gym as well.
