With all due respect, sir, to Hell with the libido…just get fully recovered!

Depends on your definition of recovered!

Got the IV central “PIC” line removed Friday, no more DIY IV antibiotics at home. Now I can restart my guts with probiotics.

Which was used with these:

I needed the PIC line because the IV anti-biotics were burning out my normal IV sites.

Beer tastes like crap, that is serious!

Libido seems to be making good progress, the ultimate vital sign. But I have brain fog.

You’ve got your sense of taste back at least

Wish you well man.

Good to see you back, KS.

good to see you back on the forums KS! glad you made it through, you have helped me and untold numbers of us here. Glad that isnt going to change anytime soon

Hope that you get back to 100% ASAP

Time for a weekly update. Home for two weeks. Have not gained any weight but I am eating well. Lots of proteins, whey shakes etc. Surgical incision is starting to show good progress, but still not fun looking at your abdominal muscles at the bottom of a hole. Friday the surgeon was digging in there and pulled out 4?6 inches of thread that I assume was lacing my abdominal muscles together. That did not feel very good and the effect has been lingering. But if I lean back and stretch my abdominals, I don’t have a tightness now. I have greatly reduced pain meds, 1/3 tablets. Can do with none some times, but not always.

I had Peritonitis - Wikipedia, 10% mortality for the healthy, 40% for the elderly and Cellulitis - Wikipedia from infection under one side of my abdominal area and around my side. The infection was under my skin. If I had not been doing all of my TRT and other health things the outcome might have been worse.

I still have low energy and I do not understand why that is not resolving faster.

My wife asked the docs to give me IV feeding and they did nothing. I guess that starvation and weight loss is a good thing from their point of view. I can’t help but think that my current cognitive state and low energy is partly a result of loosing two pounds per day. Sorry, not feeling very positive.

KS have you considered using more than the default TRT doses moving forward with your recovery considering the circumstances?

I was symptomatic with high normal range T levels. My T dose is now 175/week that takes be over LabCorp reporting limits. I think that I am well positioned for healing as far as T goes. High T levels do not avoid catabolic muscle loss during starvation.

As for weight gain, I may be gaining weight that is hidden by my belly not been swollen as much with inflammation. Loosing weight in my guts and gaining weight elsewhere. My belt tells me that I have lost 2 or 3" in my waist in the last two weeks.

Maybe my guts simply are not absorbing properly yet. All I can do is guess, never any real answers.

Just been catching up on this forum since coming back from vacation, so I missed it all, but I’m glad you’re ok now and sorry you had to go through all of that!

Hopeing for a full recovery for you, it just takes time.

OMG!!! Best wishes and speedy recovery!

Just an update: Putting on weight finally; have gained 9 pounds! Getting quite active, cut down a tree and removed the stump and other projects. The more active I am the faster my wound seems to heal, or improving vitality allows both to happen. Gaining weight came with a surge, 2-3 pounds per week. The vitality also came on suddenly.

Doc says that I have a incisional hernia and I can have another major surgery to fix that. This is sort of expected as the Fascia - Wikipedia will often not heal after a go with Peritonitis - Wikipedia

Brain fog is greatly reduced. So I can get better, then I can go under the knife.

excellent news, big guy

wish you the best, KSman! How are you holding up?

Honestly, I remember emailing this cat KSman some time this year. Not only did he email back this stupid kid from half way round the world but he did it immediately and informatively, detailed in a way that actually helped me.

This guy is a genius - but more than that he possesses the human characteristics that we all strive embed in our behavior. The world would be a much better place if more people were like KSman.

I just want to say thank you KSman and may you recover to be even more enriched and stronger than before. No doubt that pecker will be able to hold up 50lb dumbbells pretty soon (what?!).

Wishing you all the best man. I will continue to pray for you and your family.

i’m allmost never here anymore but occationally i come here to check if i see something intresting…KSman i allways enjoy your writings and though i’m late for this i wish you speedy recovery and all the best.
Remember there are lot of people who enjoy your input here though never come out saying it.

Hang in there KSman. My family and I are praying for a quick recovery. Thanks for all the great information.
