KSman is in ICU

I join so many others in wishing Dean a speedy recovery!

You are in my prayers and again same story:newbie who was helped immensely by your kind assistance KSman!

I agree with CrazyCrew (and everyone else). I am a pretty new to this board and KSman was right there with some good advice very quickly after I posted. It is clear he has given a lot to this community. I wish him and his family all the best for a speedy recovery.

I’m not on TRT or anything else, I’m just a science nerd that hopes to be a Doc one day, but I love reading his post.

Get well soon!

Get well soon KSman, our prayers are with you

Indeed. More than any other member of T-Nation I think KSMan is the one [the only one] who we can say is truly respected by all. Thoughts and prayers for a complete and timely recovery.

Re: KSman in ICU

He farts, he poops, he smiles, he talks, he walks, he stays awake more than 3 hours at a time!

Dean is doing very well. He’s talking about coming home. I think that’s great. Dean will need lots of special care to his wound when he gets home and because he is so sore and still very weak, I think I’ll be playing to his every whim. He has also lost almost 20 pounds now so he looks very, very thin and the old nickname that his ex-wife used to call him may very well be his new name…‘bones’.

I am in great hopes that he can come home no later than Friday.

Well I am still here and as I read these posts, I see that I had no idea what was going on. I am still very low energy and lost 14 pounds. I was on IV fluids for 7 days, starving, loosing about 2 pounds per day. Then liquid diet for two days, then solid food.

My general sense of being is disoriented.

Regaining the lost muscle mass will be difficult. I am doing self administered IV anti-biotics at home. Without any live bacteria in my guts, my ability to absorb nutrients from food are really limited. So recovery and healing is greatly blocked by the anti-biotics. So the starting line is really at the end of the week when the IV anti-biotics is scheduled to end. If I get transitioned to oral anti-biotics, my recovery is in limbo.

The pain is mostly tolerable, but the are times when the pain meds are not working and I feel a general sense of distress as much as anything else those times. My sense of self will not be the same until I get off that too. Typing is difficult.

Libido is non-existent. But I did get some wood for the first time last night. Not expecting miracles but fearful of the worst.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers.

Our friends have been great. Karen had the worse of all of this to endure. I really had no idea what was going on.

Thanks for the update KS. Its clearly a long road for recovery. Prayers and well-wishes continue for you and your amazing support network at home. One step at a time my friend.

Glad you are back. Take care and get well soon.

Glad you are doing better. Much love to Karen for what she has been through, and for what lies ahead. Keep things slow and steady, things will come back.

If you need to talk, vent, or whatever…PM

Thank you for your input and information on TRT. Invaluable.

Pete

Very glad that you are doing better. Did you scare the docs by knowing more than them?

Hay KSMan or Dean, now that your true identity has been reveal, great to see your home and getting better. We all have been pulling for you as you can obvioulsy tell. I’m not a big on-line community person but this site has been the one place that I have been. So I consider you and all other here friends. I only wish I could do more to support than just write.

Best wishes

Bob

KSMAN…you know how much you have done for me i love you man (like a brother not like in the ghey way)

^^ x2

Got the IV central “PIC” line removed Friday, no more DIY IV antibiotics at home. Now I can restart my guts with probiotics.

Which was used with these:

I needed the PIC line because the IV anti-biotics were burning out my normal IV sites.

Beer tastes like crap, that is serious!

Libido seems to be making good progress, the ultimate vital sign. But I have brain fog.
