Krypteia while Doing Sports (Rowing)

hi guys

so just some background, I’m a varsity rower, which compete in a number of races all year round. So currently, I row on thu, sat & sun.
Ive been running 531 forever, alongside my rowing, for the past 7 mths, and it has been working well. However, school has gotten much busier and I am planning to switch to Krypteia, which is more time-efficient and, based on the reviews on this forum, it seems very promising.

My question is regarding prep phase.
As prep phase requires me to lift 4 days/wk, to ensure I have 1 rest day/wk, there are 2 ways I can go about doing this:

  1. on Thu, lift(at night) after my rowing (morning)

  2. Skip OHP day for prep phase, and just go w 3 days/wk.

What are your guys’ thoughts? Thanks!

PS.

  • option (1) is doable to me, as 2 training sessions in a day is a norm for me during race periods. However, from my understanding, I am supposed to take it easy during prep phase, so I am not sure if I should be training twice a day during this phase
  • my rowing days (thu, sat, sun) are fixed and cnt be changed
  • And if you’re wondering, 1 rest day/wk is sufficient for me. I have been able to make progress in both rowing and in the gym with only 1 rest day ( i ensure my sleep and diet is on point).

Hey,

I’ve done krypteia twice, and agree it’s a great program. For your situation, if it were me, I would go with option 2 (skip OHP on the prep phase). You’re already in good overall shape, so the prep phase for you would not be the same as for someone who really needs it to get in shape to push the supersets.

Alright. Ill go with option 2 and see how it works out. Thanks!

Very good advice.
