Kroc’s also known for his ability to drop water weight and regain it well for PL competition, so maybe there’s just something in him that makes him fluctuate so much.[/quote]
Lots of muscle mass = lots of water to drop and hold. The ability to drop it has more to do with the willingness to endure that much discomfort for that amount of time though. If you can drop it fast you can put it back on fast without any problems.

Interesting, I’d always thought that it’s easier to drop more water (through sweating, not through glycogen/carbs) with more body fat, but I’m really not sure why.

I bet he went off creatine for the show then went back on.
heh
Honestly this is a perfect example of how subjective bodybuilding is when it comes to the judging. For me personally, I say Kroc should have won. But the middle guys legs were more cut, especially his hamstrings, and he had a more ‘aesthetic’ physique, while Kroc simply had more mass in his chest, back, and more shoulder width. So I’m not gonna rag on the judges for this one.
On that note, anybody have any idea of what could have been Kroc’s “special meal” at 4am the day of the contest to get rid of more subcutaneous water?

Carbs? lol
Ya think there was any ‘odd’ practice involved? I mean,… think about all the times you hear about some pro getting sick the day before the show and losing 10-20 lbs (of water I assume)… possibly some sort of laxative? Something to induce vomiting?
(I’ve eaten entire bags of sugar free candies and inadvertently given myself the runs before-lol) I dunno,… I’m sure some of the competitive Powerlifters on here have done some ‘questionable’ things.

It seems more specific/in-depth than that, since Kroc said something like, “I can’t tell you the details about the meal, you’d have to pay Shelby to find out after hiring him”. Yeah, something like that, lol.
