Gerber Frisco Shiv. This was a gift from my father for my 14th birthday. So, yeah, it’s as old as shit.
Gerber isn’t the company it used to be. They’ve gone from high end to mostly discount knives with the occasional premium model. But you can still find Gerbers from the 80s and 90s if you poke around the interwebs long enough.
SOG from the early to mid-90s. Can’t recall the model name. This was one of the earlier uses of carbon fiber in handles. Not grippy, but light and cool looking.
No pics but I have a pair of brass knuckles snapped to the Harley bib, a handful of zero tolerance knives and skinning/gutting/filet knives. And I suppose it could be dangerous but a handheld propane torch as a lawn tool.
I really like this guy’s work and he’s honest. I had ordered the knife I posted earlier but with a different blade. He emailed me and said, “hey this batch of blades I don’t like, the quality isn’t what I like. I can refund your money or you can select a different blade.” He could’ve sold me garbage but he was honest and told me what was going on. That went a long way for me, he has a loyal customer.
My groomsmen surprised me with this beauty over the weekend at my bachelor party. There’s a laser engraving on the other side of the blade I’ve decided to keep private.
Always considered the watch as a vital piece of equipment when deployed. Actually, a watch nut, just never had the money for the big boys. I have worn the Casio G-shock watches from the Middle East to Africa. Always held up to everything thrown at them, from dust to heavy recoil. My current selection is the G-shock Mudmaster. Great, rugged watch. Besides, if you compete in anything from the Tactical Games to 3-Gun, you need cool crap like the other boys and girls.)))
Really surprised they left Marathon off the list (some of the models have mil spec numbers). I have a G-shock and Marathon navigator that are both awesome for different reasons.
