I’m wearing a G-Shock GBD H-1000 with the BT GPS etc. Love it. The solar charge is inordinately slow IMO but there’s a USB charger.
For a man who can ruin a crowbar, G-Shock has always been a preference for Utility wear. Not out to the theater and dinner but camping.
Ok I’m mad as hell cause this reminded me I have a large craftsman tote FULL of blades I like that is MIA.
Damn it!
The SOG A/O folder I’m carrying has some of the stuff on the handle peeling back. There’s at least fifteen duplicate knives in the damn bag. Aaaaaaaargh!
I’m late to the thread, but here’s my bow. Normally I’ll shoot a bunch in the morning while coffee is brewing and the rest of the house sleeps.
I did an invintory of my knives and have 60+ but they are all for culinary purposes, so not applicable to this thread, (although my wife is worried I could be misidentified as a serial killer).
This one is a hori hori knife, I always take it camping to forage stuff.
And my home defense system.
Awesome stuff! I shot recurve back in the day. There’s something very meditative about it.
Yup. It’s almost a mindfulness practice. That’s one of the reasons I do it in the morning. Plus it actually feels like a workout instead of using a compound. That one is a 35 lb draw.
On a dumb note, I’m right-handed, so I always do an extra set of rows on my left side to compensate.
Beautiful bow. What brand is that? I want to get back into archery but go the recurve route.
I like those! A friend of mine has a similar one. I hadn’t shot a bow in about 30 years, but after a few warm ups I was able to get dialed in and make a few shots very nicely.
Not a great pic but here’s what I use. Some bows are beautiful - mine, not so much.
Don’t get to shoot as often as I’d like because it’s a pain to make new arrows. But I want to get better at that.
That’s what l shot: PSE takedown. I think mine was about a 65-pound draw but it’s been a minute. Took a few wild hogs with it.
I like the modern-retro look of that style of G-Shock. I have the urban camo version. Mainly bought it to time workouts before the apps were popular.
And that’s a Victorinox pocket watch, gift from TC Luoma.
G Shock people, got any recs for a basic watch? I’m probably going to swing by Cabelas tomorrow and pick one up.
I like the look of the digital/analog combo. Seems like a basic offering at like $110. There’s a digital only for about $80 that’ll probably do the trick just fine.
I really only intend on using it for workouts on the clock when it’s not convenient to look at a phone or a wall mounted clock. Runs and stuff like that.
Might get some range use as well for drills, but I don’t need a ton of features like altimeter or accelerometer that some of the more expensive options have.
Anything in the DW5600 series of watches is perfect for that.
Hard to go wrong with something like this:
Look at the “Mudman” models for something a little pricier, but all G shocks meet the same basic requirements for shock and water resistance.
Not gshock, but these are a few of my favorite watches from my collection. They have been to the gym, underwater, backpacking, on dates with the wife, you name it.
That Hamilton is
X-Wind Chrono?
You have good eyes.
Damn this thread!
I have a 2ga canvas tote FULL of great knives.
Can’t find the damn thing!
Aaarrrgghh!
I bought a messer sword. It hasn’t arrived yet, but it’s too cool not to have. I already know I’ll get in trouble for this when the wife sees it.
I worked with a guy who carried a bowie knife in his knife roll, and when the manager did a double take and asked him about it, he deadassed looked him in the eye and said “For potatoes.” I want to top that.
Apparently in Germany only nobles were allowed to carry swords, but pesants could have knives. The distinction wasn’t blade length, but handle style, so this got invented. So technically, it’s a knife. And those potatoes don’t stand a chance.
