Knives, Gear & Dangerous Toys

I think I saw one on eBay once for around $1000. Mine is numbered though, but the handle has some wear and tear. I’d sell it. As collectible as it is, I’d prefer to have more usable gear these days.

Both of those are on my wish list!

The Spyderco Roadie has an interesting story:

“Following the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the carry of any type of knife aboard an airplane was strictly prohibited. In early 2013, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced a plan to change U.S. security regulations and once again allow knives on airplanes. Although the plan was later withdrawn, Spyderco had already risen to the occasion by designing a highly functional non-locking pocketknife that would have conformed with the TSA’s proposed guidelines. That knife is the Roadie.”

It is heaven. I could go broke in there.

I will probably do a simple paracord wrap on the Candiru just to give a little more grip. It’s small enough to slip into a jeans pocket for EDC too (and less than 3" blade meets a lot of state regs for carry).

Used the Roadie already to open some boxes. Surprisingly stout blade for how small it is. Plastic scales are mehh, but keeps the weight down.

Feast your beady eyes on this! Kevlar edition, customized. I’ll see if Dani would like to shoot me later.

Al Mar Sport Utility Survival Hunter.

In college I worked retail at two different businesses but under the same manager both places: a mall knife store and later a hunting/camping store. This was his gift to me when I retired from retail.

This is number 32 out of the first 200 made. I use it for taking up space in my closet. Still cool, though.

This is my Glock. My Glock field knife/bayonet, that is. I believe Glock made these for the Austrian army before making handguns.

This was a gift from Chad Waterbury.

Perfect for the back country or the back yard.

It sit at the mud room door with a few axes. My friends find us a bit strange.

CL, this is my version of cute.

I really want to get a fulcrum knive and my fix blade broke a while back. Good knives are hard to find in Quebec.

There’s always room for cute! I don’t own this little bugger from ZT, but I want it. It’s just adorable.

Awesome. I have a couple from my grandfather who died before I was born, also Old Timers appropriately.

I’m glad you’re using our household decor as weapon props. This means I get to buy more, right? (Weapons, decor, and decor that could be used as a weapon.)

Also, does this count as a dangerous toy or are we only sharing things that cut?

Well, can’t say no to an H&K! You have a Spyderco Native, too, in the slicey-dicey category.

One more in the name of cute: Spyderco Pochi. “Pochi” basically means “pooch” in Japan. It’s their version of “Spot.” Yes, the little retractable tail thing has no other purpose other than being cute.
