King workouts

Been doing Ian’s 12 week upper body program (highly reccomended by the way-lots of fun) and will soon be at stage 4. I don’t have the spotters he prescribes for negative benches and they seem pretty integral to this stage. I work out alone, at home. What do you guys think of incorporating some singles instead, or some Westside speed benches or whatever? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I ran into the same problem. The early morning spotters at my gym were … unreliable. Do what you can to get a spotter, the 5 count negatives with bigger weight were great for me. I did each phase for three weeks and one of the three workouts on bench had no spotter. I backed down the weight and tried to do a few reps at T513, but I’d rather have the spotter. My 2 cents.

I’d call in some favours and get a couple of mates to help, it’s well worth it.
