Gannon was the only guy to beat kimbo so far. the promoters at elite XC know how to get in touch with Dexter but instead of actually trying to have an interesting fight, they want to set up Kimbo with easy wins. so elite xc gives Kimbo nothing but arrogant old has beens that were nothing but hype in the first place.
I’d note that Kimbo has trained with Rhadi Ferguson ( http://www.thejudocrusader.com/ ) who is a pretty serious individual, all in all.

Elite XC is interested in fights that they can market. Kimbo is currently their big attraction. Setting him up to fight some guy like Mike Dexter who no one has even heard of is not in their best interest.

The Ultimate Fighter show happens and now I get free MMA all over the frickin place and you guys want to complain about ‘sideshow’ bullshit.
Hells yeah this is a compelling fight for a lot of people. We have Kimbo, internet sensation, against Shamrock, an early UFC legend. Even if it isn’t top level MMA, it is still an interesting fight for a true fan. Come here harping your hardcore bs and how it isn’t true MMA all you want, this is what the first UFC’s were founded on - Freakshows and one-sided matchups.

kimbo could not hold his own with any of the heavyweights in the UFC, and that’s why they are throwing him washed up bums like tank abbot, james thompson, and ken shamrock. gary shaw protects kimbo with these easy ass fights and a biased referee. kimbo slice is a paper champion and his fights are almost as badly set up as the WWE.

Your right to point out that mistake Donut. I think the same but actually from an Elite XC business standpoint I actually like the fact that they are bringing Ken in for this fight as it shows they are not banking solely on Kimbo.
If Ken wins then XC will host the Shamrock-Shamrock fight. That could be a huge money draw with the publicity of a Kenny win. The old WWF crowd would but that pay per view in droves I’d imagine.
Things are getting sticky for them now though as they have overhyped Kimbo and as a result given him limited time to develop as a fighter. They have backed themselves into a corner were they have to start feeding him legitimate challengers or the interest will fade.
Kimbo has the ability to take Rogers out today. He will almost CERTAINLY be able to take him out a year from now. Anybody who doesn’t recognise Kimbo’s athletic potential and hasn’t noticed vast improvements in his skills since Mercer, clearly has no idea about the sport of MMA.
He is being personally trained by Rutten for god sake. You cannot but make great improvements with that type of coaching.
Kimbo will never be a top heavyweight but he has the potential to give the bottom half of the top ten a challenging fight in a year or two’s time if he doesn’t get caught too early by a Rogers or a journeyman heavyweight. Thoughts???
