KG Traded To The Celtics

Anyone else following this? As a Minnesota native and long time KG/Wolves fan…I must say…this truely sucks.

KG

for

Jefferson, Green, Gomes, Telfair, Ratlif, 2 future first rounders

:frowning: I’ll miss the big guy. I’m glad he’s going to greener pastures though (no pun intended).

You guys are receiving a lot of talent for KG. I think Minnesota won this trade. Al Jefferson is only 22. After last years all star break, he was pretty much putting up 20 and 10. Gerald Green is a freakish athlete with incredible upside. Both players are potential all-stars.

Minnesota is going to have an amazing team in 3-4 years. It is going to be odd seeing KG in a different uniform. KG has been the face of the Timberwolves for so long. I think this deal was pretty good for everybody. We won’t know the true impact of everything that happened in the past few days until a few years have past.

I hope to see KG contending for a title in these upcoming seasons. I also hope to see McCants, Foye, Jefferson, Green, etc tearing up the west in the future too.

KG is to the Wolves as Jordan was to the Bulls. I’m not really big into basketball, but I do think it sucks. Even though we’re getting good players, it’s sad to see KG go :frowning:

In the vast majority of sports trades, the team who gets the best player in the deal usually wins. This is especially true in the NBA where only five guys are on the court at any one time.

KG is the best player in this trade by a country mile. Jefferson is a pretty good player but he is no KG, and Green/Telfair and the rest of those guys are all sizzle and no steak at this point in their careers.

This trade immediately puts the Celtics in the mix for the Eastern conference title for the next three to five years. That alone makes them a HUGE winner in this trade.
