Pau Gasol Traded to the Lakers

One of the most lopsided trades I’ve ever seen.

As a Warriors fan, that just took the luster off the Webber deal a little bit.

Now that’s just terrible, terrible news.

This came out of nowhere. The Lakers are instantly a serious contender now. I know I’m getting ahead of myself, but could we have a Lakers-Celtics championship? That would be great to see.

Go Lakers! I can’t wait for them to get baynum back, once that happens and he is back to full strength Lakers could be the best in the west.

This is great news! Although, I did like Crittenton, I thought he had a lot of potential with the Lakers, sorry to see him go. But, no more Kwame! I bow before you, Basketball Gods.

A few of my friends from across the country called me to tell me about the trade this morning. More than a couple said that the League is conspiring to set a Celtics V. Lakers final. Ahaha. Just as long as they don’t wear those shorts again.

The Lakers DEFINITELY got the better end of that trade. Gasol will be a nice wingman for Kobe, and I think Gasol wanted out of Memphis anyways. And when Bynum comes back 100%, look out Western Conference, they are gonna make a serious run.

Who doesn’t want out of Memphis?

Are you fucking kidding me? BAYNUM??? You’re right… you ARE a Lakers fan.

Point taken. Even the logo himself rode out out of Memphis into the sunset.

I’m a big Warriors fan, and I’m pissed the Lakers picked up a serious threat in Gasol and Memphis gave him away for cheap. C’mon, Memphis got 2 1st rd picks that are going to be in the 20 plus range to give up their top player. I know Jerry West loves Kobe and the Lakers, but this was a joke.

So it’ll be Fisher, Bryant, Odom, Gasol, and Bynum which trumps Davis, Ellis, Jackson, Harrington, and Beidrins starting line-up.
And ericbyrnesjr, Bynum is going to be a top player for years to come. He’s averaging 13pts and 10 rebs in only 29 minutes, while demanding double teams. I’m hoping O’bryant could put in the work in the off-season and be that kind of player next year.

Um, baynum is a beast…?

Are you serious about that? O’Bryant will be lucky if he can avoid being sent to the D-league next year. He doesn’t have anywhere near the kind of talent Bynum has. Wright (the rookie) has some talent though… but he’s still very raw, and probably won’t contribute a whole lot until the year after next. At least you have Biedrinch (I like how announcers pronounce his name like that even though it ends in an s).

Anyway, back on topic… Memphis will probably have the worst starting PF/C combo in the league after this trade. I can’t believe the Lakers pulled this off without dealing Odom.

Yeah, and he’s what, like 12 years old or something? That guy is talented.

I’m pretty sure that was in reference to the spelling, not his ability. It’s BYNUM, not BAYNUM!

How did I miss this thread?

Anyway Kupchak had to figure he was out of a job if he didnt get something done by the deadline, so he goes out and pulls off a trade in the same neighborhood as the Kareem deal and the Shaq signing??

Now if that starting five can get/stay healthy, we may get to hear some fans break out that “Beat LA” chant in June.
