Kettlebell Swings??

Are there any good online resources showing video clips of kettlebell/dumbell swinging and snatching exercises. For the hell of it, I would like to ad some to my routine. I have seen pics and have an idea of the move, but would like to get the technique down. Thanks.

apparently not

there is some stuff over on the elite exercise index, but it is hard to “get it” from some pictures and the description

swings are a lower body / posterior chain movement to be performed forcefully with a tight torso and relaxed arms … not some loosey goosey playground movement done to look like a queer

i have seen some ridiculous crap out there (a crossfit site comes to mind) calling some abomination of a movement a swing … there is more bullshit out there than good

swings are big with the kettlebell crowd, and conveniently, they have packaged demonstrations neatly on to dvds for 40 or 50 bucks … now, i really like kettelbells, but why is it that all of the experts have to make money on everything? we need a Dan John of kettlebells, or maybe Dan just needs to cover this … lemme talk to the man

someone asked me to make a little swing video … maybe i actually will

[i assume the thread starter (i refuse to use OP) searched for stuff, as i did not tonight]

that was about as good as anything i’ve seen on the web. still … that guy shouldn’t be coming off of the ground that much no matter how light the bell. his heels should stay glued to the ground. everyone puts emphasis on swinging the bell high rather than driving into the ground and then pulling the hips back.

Thanks for the replies. I will check out the site.

I was able to find some more sites. I will say, there was alot of crap out there! Some of the technique was horrible. I may breakdown and get a video from someone who knows what they are doing. The prices are coming down. Once I get the hang of it I can always sell it on ebay! Thanks guys.

mahler’s “kb solutions for size and strength” single dvd is pretty decent … i think it is sufficient for guys like you and me that just want the quick and dirty … imho, some of these multi-hour dvd sets are just excessive

Why wouldn’t you be going for triple extension? I would think it should be done like an oly lift.
