for conidtioning, the kb swing is a potent full body move when done right; it’s worth seeing right. By varying bell size, hands, rep speed, overspeed, one can work endurance, hypertrophy, power, speed, so it’s a shame not to see it done cleanly and well. IT is also a deceptively simple move that requires considerable technique. looking on youtube for good examples only leads largely to so so form. alas. Gray Cook calls the swing one of the “best kept secrets” in fitness. That’s true, and it’s a shame because it is so efficient/potent.
So I’ve sought out Franz Snideman, someone who has a beautiful, efficient and effective swing to have a sit down with him both to show his swing and to talk with him for some tips on how to clean up a swing.
Hope you enjoy this kb swing tune up session with Franz Snideman.
if you haven’t given a kb swing a go, hope you will consider adding it to your conditioning regimen.
Nice link. I start every training session with 12 mins of swings and some jump rope during my “rest” periods. Gets my pulse racing, brings on the sweat, and I find that my lifting sessions is more productive as opposed to doing KB work after lifting. Cheers.

that’s really cool. thanks for sharing.
you may find that if you have different bell sizes to alternate tempo in your warm up to get more value from those 12 mins.
and if not different bell sizes, swap hands and no. of swaps in that time.

Glad to see you posting videos of Franz. I’m lucky enough to have him in the neighborhood and take his killer KB conditioning classes regularly. He is a great, knowledgeable and articulate instructor!
