This motherfucker is the real deal. Wins the belts, then doesn’t fight to the level of his opponents- takes apart who he’s supposed to.
That guy Lockett was a tough cat, he took a beating and kept getting up, but Kelly is to goddamn good.
Let’s throw that limey against Pavlik!! I’d love to see it! I still think Kelly would beat him- every fight he looks better and better. He threw more body shots in this fight than I’ve seen him, and his combos are excellent. He is a very technical puncher who lands with a lot of power. Pavlik-Calzaghe would be a great fight to see.
Here’s last night’s fight, watch it before they take it down.
He looked very crisp and fast, his striking was very technical and it’s obvious he is still training his ass off and not sitting around. I am leaning towards Pavlik taking out Joe if it ever happens. I would like to see him take out Arthur Abraham first.

He looks better in every fight. This time, his combos weren’t just simple 1-2’s- he was mixing uppercuts and lead hooks, not to mention body hooks.
His footwork is also very good for a big guy. He’s not impervious to being hit, but he’s shown the grit to get up.
We may be looking at the next great American fighter right here.

That’s the biggest thing I have noticed. Up to this point Pavlik has been a 1-2, 1-2, 1-2 fighter, and really only opens up the arsenal when guys get hurt. Here was throwing lead right, landing up and down seemingly at random, and hooking well. He split the gloves with uppercuts real well too.
I really like Pavlik…He’s def the total package. He’s relatively quick, good combos, hits like a mule, great sportsman/modest. I feel like hes what boxing needs.
He’s just a power puncher who’s to big for his division. He had the good win against Taylor (who lost all his confidence after the Hopkins fights). Let’s see how he does at 168-175. His style is conducive to getting KTFO down the road.

How is his style conducive to getting knocked out? His defense is pretty damn good actually.
