Keeping Libido High During a Cut?

Starting in May, will plan to take Omega-3’s and I always have had natural/organic peanut butter daily. Anything else I should be taking? I plan to cut my b/f to 10-11%. Im 43 and am about 15-16% bf.

Well, low-carb diets (if that’s what you’re planning) have long been associated with lower levels of Testosterone. While taking in some arachidonic acid through red meat, and yes, peanut butter, is a good idea, you still may have problems with libido. Take a look at this article if you get a chance. It might give you some ideas:

Hey thanks for that - will check it out

If you make smart drops in your macros and don’t do anything drastic that shouldn’t be an issue at all with getting to just a moderate level of leanness. Lots of guys are at that level of bf year round. That’s a contest prep or extreme diet concern, not if you’re just leaning up

I remember I had that (low libido) when I got down under 200lbs 11 years ago. I was seeing two women at the same time (well, unfortunatelt not the exact same time) and that didn’t help.

Yeah…it was before I met my current lady that I’ve been with for 10 years.

Was it that or the under 200lbs thing that you couldn’t believe?

Ok everyone thanks for your help. Will not be contest prepping or anything, just a lean-look good on the beach look

Ok thanks everyone, its not a contest prep I will be doing, just an all round leaning out/get more defined. Will let you know how I get on when I start in May

Use heavy, frequent, low rep training while cutting, and lighter, high rep training when building.
Get all your essential fat soluble nutrients and egg yolks.
100-200 grams of carbs (plus PWO) is better than less than 100 g .

Especially considering this, get lean on low rep strength training while reducing cals, THEN add in the cals and volume to peak in the last 2 weeks. Bodybuilders can’t afford the extra water from much of a re-bulk so they typically just reload for a couple of days, but I think that if its not a contest, get lean and strong, THEN 3 weeks of volume and cals will produce the best overall “peak” level.
