There is a Pro-Am “monsters on the Mall” March 3rd In Salina as well. I was late for it and not sure Im ready for a Pro-am heck my first meet is June and now Im signed for four around the area.
Hey man, I’d love to do one of the contests you’re at, but don’t know about the whole traveling thing at this point. I did just sign up for the Mid Atlantic Strongman contest in Waldorf for May 12. You should come back to the area and do it!
I won’t be attending, but I wanted to publicly wish you the best of luck. I don’t post often at all, but as a reader I have greatly appreciated all of the advice and encouragement you’ve given in your contributions to strongman threads. Guys like you and Sensless make this forum great. Kick some ass in Kansas, brother.

Hey thanks a lot bro, Ill do my best and promiss Ill kick my own ass trying at the least,
I will seriously look into this as I live only an hour away from Salina. Also I’ve always wanted to compete in a strongman competition.
There are some problems though. First, I have no implements with which to even begin to train with. I do have access to a weightroom, but nothing you could consider strongman.
Second, I screwed up my shoulder playing football and am holding off surgery until after track. I’m certain the events wouldn’t hurt it but I may have to get surgery before then and then I’ll have no chance of doing it.
Do you have more info on the March 3rd one or is it too late for sign-up. By the way, I’m 18 and weigh 235. Complete amateur within strongman but been lifting seriously for four years.

Oh have fun with that log! I’m just trying to figure out how to work my training during the week to maximize all of my gains (deadlift and events are my main focus).
I’m generally at about 80-90% of where I need to be for the events in the May contest so I’ll be kicking it into high gear these next few months.
As for eating, I’m at about 215# and like 19%BF and fairly steady…I’d like to keep the muscle and “cut up” a little bit for the ladies this summer, but the weights are the most important right now. I’ll check out your training log man! Good luck with the training and hopefully I can make it out to that contest!

I’m afraid that may be cutting it close though. I’d like to get the surgery as quick as I can and it’s a two month lay-off from lifting, but I will wait for after track season.
Damn, I’m in a pickle. I may just have to wait till next year.
