Really?
Husks on brown rice are essentially fibre which would mean brown rice would have a lower impact on insulin.
I wonder if for someone at his level if its still a mental battle to eat that much on a consistent basis, or if he actually gets hungry for that much food.

If I could afford it and had time to grill it, I could eat steak at every meal and as a snack or two everyday.

I have the opposite problem. I can eat bowls of rice for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks but I do not like eating too much protein (like steak, chicken or fish).
Me too. For some reason I love carbs more than protein. Rice, pasta, mac and cheese, potatoes (mashed, bakes, or salad). Damn, thinking of this is making this plain greek yogurt I’m eating this minute even more bland.
mix in some vanilla Metabolic Drive, and it’s golden. even some frozen blueberries work well
plain greek yogurt + copious amounts of frozen berries (raspberries, blue berries, black berries) is probably my favorite food, besides a nice, big, fat, juicy, rare steak.
anyway, the frozen berries kind of freeze the yogurt before it all melts, and its like eating frozen sex. Not like Rockula’s frozen sex, though.

I really respect someone like Kai who can eat copious amounts of calories from real protein sources. Anyone can eat 10,000 calories a day from carbs+fats, but to do majority of it using meats = WOW.

I have to ask a Q that I’ve always wondered
I always thought Fish was the food of choice for contest dieting and you hear of guys switching from steak to fish
any reason for this?
Less saturated fat. That is really the only reason to do that aside from lesser calories the closer you get to the contest date. Most don’t eat just fish.
Prof.X let’s be real here too. Kai would get mercury poisoning in a week if he switched this all over to fish.

this is wrong. In fact, the opposite. If anything, it takes more work for your body to digest brown rice, removing the outer shell. This will increase TEF, probably rather slightly, but nonetheless

It is sarcasm I doubt Kai cares enough to nitpick every detail of his diet.

Yah because why would someone who is trying to win the most prestigious bodybuilding competition in the world be nitpicky about their diet right?
I guarantee you he will switch to brown rice as the contest gets closer, most of the guys I’ve seen start with white rice the first half of the diet and switch to brown rice the closer the comp gets.

I think that a pro bodybuilder of all people would definately care!
I think he probably uses white rice because it is high GI (Quicker easier to digest) which is important when your next massive meal is only a few short hours away. As for blood sugar levels I would say he is wanting them to be high going into his workout, and the massive isulin surge after is only going to bring in more nutrients into the muscles afterwards.
Notice that his last two meals have very little carbs compared to the others.
I’m sure it’s well thought out, but I doubt he really cares about white vs brown rice, look at other top bodybuilders diets, many a top bodybuilder did not overthink their diet even when preparing for a comp. SOme eat less food, some cut out fat, it’s more from experience than thinking damn brown rice’s GI content is lower than brown.

Why don’t you just stop posting, mmk?
You are out of your mind if you don’t think every detail of his diet has been analyzed over and over and over again. He has the goal of being the first BBer to win the olympia on his first try, be assured he and his coaches will leave no stone unturned.

I was just reading MD also and Evan Centopani (also coached by Oscar Arden) listed pretty big amounts of white rice in his precontest dier as well.
