What’re your thoughts on throwing some on at the end of your sessions?
I don’t like it. Running with tired legs, pecs, shoulders, or arms sucks. My lifting session was fine from a performance standpoint. I did everything I was supposed to do including some back work (even if it was only bands).
Have you done much research into running form or had someone check your form out. I’m FAR from good, in fact I’m probably somewhere closer to suck, but I still find it makes a huge difference. I was lucky enough that about 10 years ago, I worked with a guy who had been a national level triathlete and he helped me with some form tips. The biggest impact is on leg endurance and being able to keep running when the legs start to get tired.
Another thing that helped with the leg endurance is hill runs, not sprints. A hill with a gradual incline that takes about a minute to get up. A couple repeats at 50%, one at 70, and one at 90, and building up a couple more reps over a month or two, once per week really helped me with both endurance and form.
Another program that helped was one from Stew Smith. It had similar days to some of what it looks like you’ve been doing, with short sprints with rests, but instead of doing .6 miles/sprint, it was a lot of .25 miles at goal pace runs.
It all depends on what your goal is. Right now, I’m just trying to get a little time off my runs, but it’s still second to lifting, so I’m happy just running the same distance twice/week. I know it’s only going to get me so much, though, and if I want to get better, then I’ll need a better plan.
My wife ran five years of Division I track and field here. She’s corrected my form as much as it needs to be corrected for my purposes. I need to work on staying back when I jog. I tend to lean forward too much according to her.
I have a nice gradual slope close to the house that I could use.
I would much rather do 0.25 mile runs than what I’ve been doing. The .62 miles is what I’ve been using on the treadmill. It’s supposed to be 1K runs but the ol treadmill doesn’t let me change the measurements.
I’d consider your level of conditioning to be adequate. I’d be happy with it. Your post reminded me that at one point I thought that I should train for a 600m run. It suits my training preferences and would be useful at work.

Short and sweet.
I agree. A little faster may be better, from a work and health standpoint, but I don’t see the need to be able to go much further or much faster. I’d rather have a fast 300/400m and be strong. I also don’t really enjoy running, apart from being outside, which is why I don’t do any long slow runs. My goal each run is to beat my last time, which isn’t the best training method, but it keeps me interested. If, for some reason, I wanted to train for something like a 10k, then I’d be able to do whatever training I needed to, because the race is a goal that gives the runs purpose.
Nice deadlift session.
Haha good name change in assuming it’s a punisher reference?
Of course! The whole name was already taken. I’ve started trying to hide on the internet. I should’ve changed my name a year and a half ago when I took some training on Open Source Investigations. It’s not very hard to hunt people down on the internet these days.
I’ve always wanted to use this website and do a bible study. Goes into suuuuuch great detail and helps back track and show where certain references come from and where to find them.
Ok, tried to link it but it’s not loading for me lol
It’s not the most friendly mobile site ever since he revamped it, but once you finally get to where the books of the Bible are it’s simple to navigate.
Agreed I just can’t see why anyone would want to track me down, so go on the principle I’m too boring to worry about strict anonymity.
I was reading an article today about how people now have data profiles before they are born.
Not at all surprising, the price we pay for convenience/comfort and gadget!
I have my whole house rigged with Google Voice devices, all the lights are voice activated, got a robot hoover which works with it, even the Christmas tree was voice activated, I’m not particularly concerned about big corp owning my data.
I’m of a similar mindset. I’m pretty dull, I don’t think anyone cares what I buy on Amazon.
I’m willing to have my mind changed by smarter people though.
I would be but I’m not really sure what the alternative would even look like these days, how much of a “normal” life can you lead these days if you don’t do online shopping.
How normal are you if you don’t let Jeff Bezos rifle through your digital underwear draw?!
I don’t know the answers, honestly.
We give a lot of data by using the internet, but you can insulate yourself a bit. I have an email domain that forwards me any mail sent to it. For websites that want you to sign up when you make a purchase, I can type whatever I want @ my domain and I’ll get the emails. When the company gets hacked and my email is compromised, they won’t have it attached to anything personal like my bank account.
I’ve been on the news and my name is on my department website. I just don’t want to make it easy for people to find all my stuff.
Yea definitely a different scenario for you, and I completely get why your more concerned. I live in a pretty safe corner of the world so that affects my viewpoint substantially.
Ever checked out the Bible app? Got a lot of short Bible studies and daily devotional plans on there. Usually sorted by topic or target audience if you know what you’re looking for. I’ve done a few before, usually with a buddy. You can sync up and do it with multiple partners if you care to do that, which is nice.
EDIT: Got a lot of short duration Bible studies. It seems like a lot of them are only 5 days are so. Seen a few for 2 weeks, and I saw one that has you go throughout the Bible over a year.
My wife and I are doing this:
It has a corresponding podcast that explains the day’s reading. I can finally understand what I’m reading.

Forced this one. I stayed home with my daughter today. She has an infection of sorts. Waiting on the Covid test again.
On the plus side I was able to do my first week of school work. I’m only taking one class so it’s not much. Unfortunately, it appears that I’ll be reading a text book and answering questions about it. I struggle with text book reading. I read it but don’t retain it.
Also, I had time to work on my fancy storage shelf. I’m a rookie carpenter so mistakes were made and I had to tear it apart and start over. The next one will be much easier and hopefully mistake free.
