Hope she feels better soon!

CRAP!!! I forgot to weigh in again…

Ya know, It’s just not in the cards for me. I get up and have a ton of things to get going and I totally forget about doing a daily.

Maybe a few more of your posts starting “Woke at…” will shame me into getting my daily weight! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Sorry to hear about the little one; hope she feels better soon.

Sounds like a great recovery day if you can force yourself to not do anything

Thanks to both of you for your regards about my little one.

My scale is in my bathroom. It’s hard to miss it and it’s become part of my routine. Brush teeth, put in contacts, put on deodorant, step on scale.

I’m also a very type A person who likes routines. Now that I’ve got it down, it’s tough to skip the weigh-in or get out of order.

I actually picked up the habit of posting my morning weight from @MarkKO.

You know what?

My scale is in my bathroom too. Right next to the crapper.

Problem is, I don’t usually need to crap until after I’ve hit the gym, etc.

So I go: Brush teeth, put in contacts, run downstairs to walk dogs and get their breakfast ready.

I just need to pause for the cause and step on the scale pre-BM and record that data.

I’m a type A too and the routine is King! Maybe that’s why it’s so hard to change it since I’ve been rolling this way so long.

I’m putting a sticky note on my mirror until I make it a part of the routine.

When you get the routine, it’s easy.
Teeths, Contacts, weight, run down, walk the dog.
My weight is all over the place througout the week.
But when the week or month is over, it’s easy to see, if the scale is going up or down.

hey just curious: whats your goal at the moment? I started following your log just recently, but I saw from one of the first posts you got here that you have some strength goals with the squat deadlift and ohp, but recently you said you wanna lean down to around 10% bf or so.
I have sorf of a life time goal of 200kg highh bar squat and 100kg ohp, I’m wealking around at about 20% bf, but wouldnt mind even being close to 25 if that would help me reach the numbers faster.
Would fu*ck me up on the job though, cause Im usually a patroling officer on foot, lol. no catching criminals running thats for sure

I still have my long-term strength goals of 3/4/5 on bench/squat/deadlift. I pulled 5 plates this year so u can check that one off the list. I’d like to be able to do that any day of the week but I’m not sure if it’s worth pursuing.

I injured my back in 2014 and have a bulged disc at L3/L4. I’ve had a good run but I’m actually experiencing symptoms right now so it has me evaluating risk vs reward with my training.

I’m currently cutting down to (hopefully) 10% body fat. Once I get there then I’m starting my very slow lean gain. I actually want to gain weight but I think I’m too fat to be taking in excess calories right now. I’ll be lucky to gain 5 lbs of muscle in a year so there’s no need to rush.

So in conclusion…

  1. 10% body fat (approximately 215 lbs, I think)
  2. gain to 225-230 lbs while staying at our below 12% body fat
  3. Squat 405 and bench 315

With shoulder problems, hip problems, and back problems I may not pursue these. I can still push my strength with single-leg exercises, DB presses, and sub max Deadlift work. It’s just tough to not get hung up on the “traditional” measurements of strength.

Everywhere you look it’s:

“What are your numbers?”
“You’re a beginner until you can do ________.”

Someday you might see me posting my best walking lunges or DB Incline sets.

I’m also having hip surgery next month so cutting isn’t the worst idea before I’m sidelined.

Oh I see, so thats whats going on. too bad with those injuries, I agree with those traditional measurements of strength, but there are other ways to display strength.
In my country theres a guy who got to be european judo winner 5 or 6 years ago, -100kg category. This guy’s lifts are not something if you think about those “traditional” feats of strength, but hes a fucking animal. Other judokas could outsquat and outbench him any day, but this guy could do lunges with up to 200kg and straight curls with like a 100kg for reps. Crazy unconventional feats of strength, no wonder he destroyed competition every year on national level and that one time european best.

Woke at 223.8 lbs but that’s because I spent the night puking my guts out. My insides feel bruised.

FUCK.

ME.

Shit man! That doesn’t sound too good.

Apparently stomach bugs get worse as you get older.
My son got it first off Saturday night (he’s 1). We woke up to find him covered in puke but he’d been playing in it. He never cried or woke us up.

My daughter got it Monday night and puked twice around bed time.

I got it last night and could tell it was coming around 8. I’m pretty sure I puked at least six different times.

That’s three out of the four of us. Hopefully my wife escapes this time.

I feel like this is just ignorant people who know very little about training. Once you can’t progress week to week, you aren’t a beginner. I think it’s all the Riptards that skim SS once and see the strength standards that say dumb shit like this. Just keep on and keeping on man. You’re strong and athletic especially as a father, husband, and a man. Good luck with training dude, and get better soon. Can’t gain any weight throwing up your insides.

Could you put the scale by the front door then? I know it isn’t the best looking thing to have next to the door, but if you wanted to remember. Ha

@oldbeancam must not be married!!! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’ve put a sticky on my mirror in the bathroom I get ready in (my wife takes the master bath)

Just celebrated my first wedding anniversary, so I completely get it man. Ha I also have my own bathroom. I honestly think it’s so essential for us to be happy. :joy:

It definitely helps! I get the tiny master bath and my wife uses the other second floor bathroom with the double vanity.

Separate bathrooms are a life saver.

Solid advice, just saying.

Late to the party, my bad.

Woke at 225.0 lbs.

Yesterday’s nutrition was about 25 crackers, 30 ounces of Sprite and about the amount of Ginger Ale.
