Just. Don't. Suck (Part 1)

I get them tight and then loosen them a bit. For some reason, I can’t get my arms up when the weight gets heavy until after the catch.

You forgot to mention that he is also tall, handsome, has excellent hygiene and that small children and animals love him.

Haha you’re only jealous I didn’t say nice things about you!

Consistently good lifting here.

You’re likely getting “bored” with full/partial virus confinement; it will pass.

That photo a few weeks ago of you lying in your backyard w/beer cans was really funny!

I am used to people not saying nice things about me, so jokes on you!

You’re a funny guy who’s good at muscle ups. Checkmate!

That’s a low blow, you take it back.

Lifting Time: 42 minutes. OHP is stalling but I switch to triples next week so there’s still room for added weight. I have felt pretty good about my last couple sessions. They’re tough but I’m getting through them.

I weighed 227.8 on July 4th before I ate. I was back to that yesterday and 228.6 lbs today. I’m chipping away at my stomach flab. I’ll continue to cut (while I increase training intensity) until I see 223 on the scale consistently. I have three weeks of triples and then three weeks of 5/4/3/2/1. Im hoping to hit a new PR on deads at 225 lbs. 510 will do it but I might get greedy and go big. The next five weeks will dictate that.

1st session of the lower arm tonight. We will hopefully finish my entire arm in two to three more sessions.

It’s the internet, bro. I found it so now it’s mine. Unfortunately, I think my spartan is bigger than me.

That’s just good lighting

Alright I got to ask: how much $ in ink are you up to?

$200 + $40 tip for the spartan piece. I paid the same to touch up and add to my upper arm two weeks ago.

I think I spent $500 total for the original work on my upper arm.

My artist has worked on me for three hours each of the last two sessions and he’s supposed to charge $120/hr.

I’ve been 227.4 lbs the last two mornings. I stayed up late and drank too much last night so I don’t feel great today. It wasn’t planned. The wife and I were just talking and I kept adding Fireball to my glass.

Today is squat day. I can survive that because it’s Training Maximally. The part that concerns me is deadlifts at 415 lbs for triples. Those are probably going to hurt today.

I have never understood why people like Fireball.

@mags22 here’s my log. You can find lots of them under the Training Log section right above Supplements and Nutrition.

I’m using the SGSS progression for deadlift, DB OHP, and DB Incline. I hate squats right now so I’m doing something completely different with that. The rest of the work is just for balance and joint health.

I’ve started super setting things with the hopes of improving my conditioning. As you can see, this isn’t CT’s program anymore, but I’m using the progression for my targeted lifts. This is the second round of SGSS for me this year. I finished the last one, but a new PR on deadlift, took a week off for some training at work, and then started it again. Today was my first workout of week seven.

I did my 3x3 on deads today which was squat day. I’ll do 5x3 on deadlift day which will be Wednesday. I do the same with OHP and incline. The three set day is paired with the five set day of the other lift.

I’ve been training for a long time and this combination is going well for me. It allows lots of variety without interrupting the progress of my targeted lifts (deadlift, OHP, and incline).

I’m also doing a separate six week power clean program that I just run twice with SGSS.

Confused yet?
