Btw if you schedule is like this for the next 10 days I would put the workouts to a bare minimum, but knowing how much junk you will probably eat at work then I’m not so sure.

The food is unbelievable. We have several carloads of snacks. It’s all chips, cookies, crackers, trail mix, all the stuff in the snack aisle. It’s so hard to resist - and I haven’t.
We got off two hours early last night because it was quiet. We think we’re in for at least one more rough night this weekend.
The beauty of this is the Facebook live feeds. We’ve been arresting people from the events that took place Monday. There’s even video of the guy who shot at us. Someone ratted him out and we found evidence to corroborate the tip. He’s in custody and facing about 50 counts off aggravated assault against an LEO. I hope they bury him.
I go back tonight for another 4 to 4 shift.

I know. The funny thing is that it seems like people just think all cops are white racists. Ignorance is such a driving force behind all this. I can say that I haven’t seen anything to convince me that the system is unfair here. Almost all of my successful cases in which I’ve made arrests or issued warrants have been white people.
Until people stop creating a racial qualifier for their group, we’re going to have division.

From my experience, white people commit more property crimes and black people commit more violent crimes. In addition to that, the bulk of violent crimes committed by black people are done by the young ones. These kids are committing drive-bys with AKs and they’re like 16. The ones who manage to survive and avoid jail tend to calm down as they get older.
Alternatively, the white people continue to steal for life.
The disparity in prison is the disparity in the Justice system. It doesn’t care about property crimes. They are not a priority (and it’s incredibly frustrating). If you look at a crime and its class - misdemeanor or felony and what level - then you’ll see that the sentencing guidelines are different.
A first time burglary conviction gets you 15-17 months of presumptive probation (level 7 non-person felony with no priors).
A first time aggravated assault with a firearm conviction (level 7 person felony with no priors) gets you 22-26 months of presumptive probation.
Change that agg assault to agg robbery and it’s a level 5 person felony that earns you 50-55 months of presumptive jail time.
It’s fairly common for juveniles to lure pizza delivery drivers to a vacant house and rob them of the food and their cell phone. Some of our places won’t deliver to certain areas (I bet grub hub and door dash have solved that).
From what I have personally seen, the demographics for certain crimes are different. The sentencing guidelines for those crimes are different. Simple math explains the “disparity” in prison populations.
Well, I’m back at work and we’re about to brief for tonight’s mission. Sarge just told us to go pick up a shield and baton…

Work was uneventful again. I still worked 1330-0230 but I did a lot of sitting around. We might be done with the nonsense… until they find those officers not guilty.
They are going to federally indict two people who authored social media posts that encouraged rioting and looting. I think there is also a federal law that covers shooting at cops during a protest/riot. I’m not sure on that one but the guy who shot at us might not be out for awhile.

Just tracking my hours to make sure I get paid correctly. I don’t know what day of the week it is. I’m glad I posted these earlier in the week. I just had to look through text messages to figure out my times for Thursday which wasn’t that long ago.
49.25 hours of OT are coming my way so far. Today is an OT day, too. Mon-Thurs are my usual work days so those will be straight time unless I work more than 10 hours. We’re scheduled for 12 hour shifts, but I bet we get sent home early tonight. We start at 4pm. If Fri and Sat night were calm then I can’t imagine tonight being worse.

Work was quiet last night. They sent us home at midnight so I only sat around for eight hours of OT. We go back at noon today. They’ve changed our start time every day. It’s kind of annoying. Scheduled for 12-12 today and they gave us the day off tomorrow. My last true day off was Memorial Day (May 25th).
I should lift this morning but I’m putting it off til tomorrow since I’ll have more time. I’ve tried keeping up with logs but I don’t seem to have the ability. I find myself just scrolling down and not processing anything.
