Just. Don't. Suck (Part 1)

5.31.20 SGSS FULL BODY W1 D3

DYNAMIC OUTDOOR WARM UP

GIANT SET 1

Warm Up (2 Rounds)
Pull Ups BW x 5, 5
Deadlift 185 x 5, 275 x 5
DB OHP 45 x 5, 5

THE REAL WORK - 4 ROUNDS
Pull Up BW x 8
Deadlift 295 x 8
DB OHP 55 x 8

GIANT SET 2

4 ROUNDS
Pendlay Row 155 x 8
Squat 205 x 5
DB Incline 65 x 8

DELTS

2 ROUNDS
Side Lying Rear Delt Fly 20 x 15
Side Lying Lat Raise 10 x 10

Rest was 45 seconds between every set and that worked well. I was uncomfortable the entire session but didn’t get too nauseous. Squats are the down sets that go with Training Maximally. It’s supposed to be 5x5 with 70% but 4x5 works well with the circuit. I’ve also opted to do four sets of deadlift once a week since I’ve added the power cleans and clean pulls. We’ll see how it all works out.

It took 20 minutes for the first giant set and another 20 minutes to change weights, set up, and go through the second giant set. Total workout time was 49 brutal minutes.

Full body, compound giant sets, I like it. Who needs cardio when you do that?

Very true. I have no problem slacking on running right now. I’m old enough to know that I shouldn’t add multiple things to my training at the same time. If I feel like these workouts aren’t cutting it for cardio then I’ll add cardio.

@aldebaran, here’s my current setup. I’m trying full body three days a week.

This is a really nice setting. I had cooked myself something like that before the lockdown. Sunday session looking tough as hell!

Looks like I get to do protest duty for the third day in a row. I got called in Saturday and Sunday and I’m staying late tonight. :man_facepalming:

In Europe we are not aware of the real scale of things. Hope you’ll be fine!

Stay safe J.

So far I’ve only had to park on a side street to be seen… And yelled at. Tonight’s group wants to block a major highway and so donuts and burnouts. They’ve changed our work schedule for the next two weeks and told us not to ask for time off.

Sorry to hear that J. I hope you won’t have to come across some of the crazy ones or the ones that are in it purely just to loot.

Well, it’s almost midnight and I’m still at work. Going on 18 hours now. I’m currently sitting in a patrol car with my riot helmet. I hate people.

My earlier excitement included being the target of an angry mob. I heard I got some time on Facebook live. The account is Meko Haze here in Wichita if you want to see it.

Stay safe J, looks like it’s crazy times.

Stay safe man.

Luckily, there’s some good ones like yourself.

My brother stay safe :pray::blue_heart:

^agree. Stay alert and you’ll get through it.

Prayers and support from the great white North, my friend. There’s a lot of good cops like you out there. Make sure people know that.

How are you finding people in your area are responding to police presence? Are the protests mostly peaceful or is there a lot of animosity right now?

Well, after three volleys of gunfire, we finally had to move in with what little riot gear we have. As soon as we got close, they started throwing glass bottles and chunks of concrete at us. There were a couple more volleys of gunfire, but I don’t think it was directed at anyone. We still had retarded white girls in front of us crying about injustice.

Make no mistake - this was no protest. This was a street party full of criminals. There weren’t any signs or speeches.

Finally, they shot at us with a rifle from a block and a half away. I guess they pointed at the armored trucks because a guy walking between them found a bullet in his ballistic helmet right on his forehead afterwards.

I was wrong in my last post. Midnight was only the 16 hour mark of my day. I got home at 0330 after 19.5 hours.

Edit: It’s 1400 hours and I’m headed back. We’re working 12 hour shifts with no days off til June 14th. I’m not sure if I’ll even work out. We’ll see how things go and how I feel. If I’m taking gunfire during a riot again tonight then I’m not sure if I’ll have the mental fortitude to train. I’m also already considering trying to get some sessions in as planned but reduce the number of rounds. I could probably get through two rounds instead of three or four and still call that progress.

I’ve had a lot of anger and emotions pulsing through me the last 24 hours. All of my thoughts come back to two things:

  1. you can’t fix stupid. That means that the people out there protesting and hollering can’t be convinced of anything other than their current beliefs.
  2. If you want to change the world then start by promoting accountability. Take accountability for your actions. Don’t blame someone else. You are a human being with free will and you make decisions. You might not get to choose your circumstances, but you still have choices. If these groups really cared about black lives then they’d be pissed about the 19 year old kid who was murdered last weekend. No one cares about him. It seems that black lives only matter when they’re killed by cops. A black security guard was murdered in California by rioters and not a word. A black female cop was murdered last year and not a word. They don’t care about black lives. They just want to place blame.

Here’s a thought: if you’re scared your baby is going to be gunned down by the police then why don’t you teach him not to break the law? It’s called accountability. It’s cause-effect. Action-consequence.

These same people understand that if a child talks back to its mother and gets smacked then that’s called discipline. If a kid blows up in the classroom and gets kicked out of school then that’s action and consequence. If a kid blows up at his coach or breaks the team rules then he’s kicked off the team. Again, a decision and a consequence. If a minority breaks the law, gets caught, fights/resists the police and gets hurt then it’s racism. I don’t get it.

Stop committing crimes and you won’t see us.

Stay Strong.

I watched a bunch of the Facebook video you mentioned, and that’s exactly what I saw.

Great job on the transformation J. You got my vote for 2019 - 2020.

Same. The emphasis on shoulders was very apparent between the June 2019 and June 2020 photos. Looking real solid dude.
