I disagree slightly, in that “propaganda” implies there’s a deep sinister plot trying to twist and change society.
I don’t think its quite that insidious, it’s simply the case that newspapers are businesses and therefore print the things their readers want to read because if they don’t, they go out of business.
But yes, they are full of partisan shit that does nothing valuable or good.
The Governor just cancelled school thru May 31st. I’m not sure what that means because school is usually out at the end of May. This could be it until August or they’ll be finishing in the summer.
That’s pretty intense. Don’t completely disagree with it - my school is online till April 6th, then we go back, and I feel that’s silly because people will be traveling around until then and then all coming back at once - waiting a few weeks to gather us all up doesn’t mean it’s fixed, but to completely cancel for 2 1/2 months is surprising. Maybe for the best though.
More than 90% of the entire WORLD’S media is owned by six corporations. Network news stations, advertising companies, websites, newspapers, film production companies, all owned by six corps. News media follows a top-down model - the views expressed must conform with corporate policy. While editorials occasionally give an illusion of viewpoint diversity, most simply further the existing rhetoric.
That may have been the case for past generations, but because of the corporate media takeover - aided in great part by American deregulation in the mid-90’s - today’s media can rightly be called corporate propaganda.
The maxim “if it bleeds, it leads” is as true today as decades past. Our perceptions aren’t only crafted by what is reported, but how the events are told and also which events are not reported. You’re right in assuming news sources publish what audiences consume, but people will consume whatever news is provided. If only X and Y stories are reported, that’s all people will know and talk about, completely ignorant of stories A through W and Z. Information is like groceries - regionally produced and shared. We can only eat what’s available.
My bachelor’s is in journalism, and what I learned both confirmed suspicions and made me sick about the state of media in the world today.
Missed training yesterday due to a busy work schedule so it looks like I’ll be training 12 days in a row to get caught back up.

145 x 5 x 3 sets I don’t know how I forgot about these or clean pulls. I couldn’t do pulls after leg press because my quads were shot. This weight was light enough that I could still work on it.
Woke at 226.8 lbs. My weight is drifting upwards, but I don’t mind. One of two things is happening: my body is liking my version of intermittent fasting (skipping breakfast most days) or I’m naive and lying to myself when I look in the mirror.
Either way, I’m not uncomfortable yet so I’m not hitting the panic button and cutting.
Your right arm looks a little bigger. How lean do you want to be? Abs are definitely fluffier in the newer pic but if it’s easier and less stressful…? Still looking better than most dads (and cops) that I see.
I genuinely feel like you look more solid and healthy at your current weight. This is good progress. Slow, lean gains with no further injuries and a sustainable diet. Can’t ask for any more than that.
The difference in lighting is also playing some tricks, but I would say that’s a pretty good result for an 18 pound gain. If I gained 18 pounds, my already unacceptable love handles would be big enough that I could hide snacks under them. You’ve got none.
